Abstract: In the field of liquid crystal display technology, a liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof. The driving method includes steps of: detecting whether a light leakage has occurred in the liquid crystal display device; and adjusting a turn-off voltage output from a gate driver to a gate of a switch element to reduce an absolute value of a voltage difference between the turn-off voltage and a common voltage when the light leakage has occurred in the liquid crystal display device. In the embodiments, the phenomenon of light leakage at the dislocation caused by the dislocation between the color filter substrate and the array substrate when the liquid crystal display device is subjected to external pressure can be effectively improved, thereby improving the display effect of the liquid crystal display device.
