Abstract: A control diaphragm for controlling a fuel feed in a diaphragm carburetor of an internal combustion engine, includes a central, substantially flat feeling region, a functional region circumferentially extending around the feeling region in a concentric manner, and a peripheral fastening border for fastening the control diaphragm. The control diaphragm closes off a control chamber of the diaphragm carburetor in a sealing manner in the installed state and is operatively connected by the central feeling region to a controlling lever of the diaphragm carburetor arranged in the control chamber, which controlling lever feels the axial deflection of the feeling region in accordance with an operating-related pressure change in the control chamber. The control diaphragm is composed of a temperature- and fuel-resistant, non-elastomeric and uniformly thick plastic film, in which a plurality of concentric corrugations forming the functional region are formed so that axial deflection of the feeling region progresses in dependence on the operating-related pressure change in the control chamber in accordance with a predefined displacement/pressure characteristic curve.

Abstract: A method for producing an elastomeric component, preferably an elastomeric sealing component, including an elastomer body and a printed structure, preferably a printed electronic structure or circuit, on a surface of the elastomer body. The method includes: a. providing a planar foil of thermoplastic material having a printable surface; b. printing a structure onto the printable surface to obtain the printed structure; c. providing an elastomer substrate for forming the elastomer body; d. placing the planar foil with the printed structure onto the elastomer substrate; and e. laminating the combined planar foil and elastomer substrate by applying heat and pressure. The elastomeric component is obtained in that the elastomer substrate is formed to the shape of the elastomer body before step d); the elastomer substrate is formed to the shape of the elastomer body during lamination; or the elastomer substrate is formed to the shape of the elastomer body after lamination.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for forming a dimensionally stable three-dimensional shape into a sheet-like substrate (3) of thermoplastic material comprising the steps of: a.) providing a mould including a first die (1) with a first template surface (11) for contacting an upper surface (31) of the substrate (3) and a second die (2) with a second template surface (21) for contacting a lower surface (32) of the substrate (3) opposite the upper surface (31) of the substrate (3); each template surface (11, 21) having an inverse of a desired shape to be transformed to the upper and lower surfaces (31, 32) of the substrate (3); and at least one of the first die (1) and the second die (2) being transparent to electromagnetic waves of a predetermined wavelength; b.) providing at least one absorption layer (5, 5′) being able to be heated by absorption of an electromagnetic irradiation (4, 4′) of the predetermined wavelength and thereby heating the thermoplastic substrate (3) to or above its glass transition temperature; c.) placing the substrate (3) between the first and the second die (1, 2) of the mould and closing the mould; d.) irradiating the absorption layer (5, 5′) with the electromagnetic irradiation (4, 4) in order to heat the thermoplastic substrate (3) to or above its glass transition temperature during a sufficient time to transform the thermoplastic substrate into the three-dimensional shape.

Abstract: A control diaphragm for controlling fuel supply in a carburetor of an internal combustion engine includes a functional region enclosing a sensing region concentrically and a peripheral fastening border for fastening the control diaphragm in the diaphragm carburetor. The control diaphragm closes a control chamber of the diaphragm carburetor and is operatively connected via the central sensing region to a control lever in the control chamber and senses the axial deflection of the sensing region in a manner dependent on operation-induced pressure change in the control chamber. The control diaphragm consists in one piece of temperature-resistant and fuel-resistant, non-elastomeric plastic and the functional region is configured by way of a multiplicity of concentric corrugations. The outermost corrugation directly adjoins the fastening border, and the radius of the outermost corrugation corresponds substantially to the radius of the control chamber. The sensing region directly adjoins the innermost corrugation and the radius of the sensing region corresponds to from 5 to 25% of the outer radius of the functional region.

Abstract: A pump diaphragm for a diaphragm pump for conveying a fluid includes a solid core with a connection device for a drive rod of the diaphragm pump, and a plate-shaped elastic diaphragm body made of rubber having a peripheral clamping edge. The solid core is embedded at least partially in the diaphragm body and the solid core is produced from a thermoplastic and forms covalent bonds with the elastic diaphragm body made of rubber without adhesive. For this purpose, the thermoplastic, for example polyamide 612 or polyphenylene ether, and the rubber, a periodically cross-linked rubber such as EPDM, are selected in such a way that they are covalently cross-linked with one another at the boundary layer. In this way, a bonding layer that is susceptible to weakening or destruction is not present between the core and the diaphragm body.
