摘要: Adaptors are provided for use with electrosurgical bipolar instruments and standard commercially available electrosurgical generators that reduce coagulum buildup and sticking on electrosurgical instruments. A first type of adaptor converts a high voltage, high crest factor output voltage waveform typical of conventional electrosurgical generators to a more desirable lower voltage, lower crest factor regime. A second type of adaptor limits the peak open-circuit voltage supplied by a conventional electrosurgical generator to an electrosurgical instrument.

摘要: A power supply for use with resistively-heated surgical instruments is provided, wherein the desired operating conditions of the surgical instrument are determined by a set-point determination circuit in combination with a set-point indicator element. The power supply includes an impedance matching circuit and current step-up transformer for reducing power loss in the cable connecting the surgical instrument to the power supply. A method of regulating the output of a power supply used with resistively-heated surgical instruments is also provided.

摘要: A power supply for use with resistively-heated surgical instruments is provided, wherein accurate temperature regulation is achieved employing a resistance feedback circuit. The power supply powers the surgical instrument with an AC voltage waveform, and applies a fixed, low level DC signal to the heating element to produce a DC signal proportional to the instantaneous resistance of the heating element. The DC signal is compared to a setpoint value to obtain a control signal for adjusting the power delivered to the instrument to maintain a substantially constant heating element temperature, even under varying thermal loads.

摘要: A lighted nock is provided for an arrow which undergoes an initial acceleration when shot from a bow and thereupon reaches a zero acceleration during flight shortly in front of the bow. The nock is formed of transparent material within which is embedded a light emitting diode. An elongate cavity is positioned within the forward portion of the nock and within that cavity there is slidably located an elongate battery having a rod-shaped forward electrode and a rear face forming a second electrode. An energy storing spring is positioned within the cavity and a second cavity is positioned adjacent the first cavity. Within the second cavity there is located an electrical contact and between the two cavities is a position delimiter formed as an annular silicone ring. As the arrow is shot, the energy storage spring moves into compressive contact with the rearward face of the battery and is compressed to store energy sufficient, upon the arrow reaching zero acceleration, to cause the battery forward rod-shaped end to penetrate the position delimiter and close a circuit. Electrical contact between the second terminal of the diode and the battery is provided by an elongate spring of low spring rate positioned coaxially within the energy storage spring and maintaining continuous abutting contact with the rearward face or terminal of the battery.

摘要: An illuminator assembly is disclosed which is formed from a light emitting diode (LED) having two electrode pins extending therefrom which are cut to predetermined lengths. One lead then is formed to provide a circularly shaped spring support base and the other lead is bent to provide an attachment potion extending through the center of the opening formed by the spring support base. A capture spring of conical configuration then is attached to the centrally disposed lead which extends through the spring support base opening. A compressible coil switching spring then is attached to the spring support base. The assemblage thus formed is employed with a battery of a variety having a forward face which engages the free end of the switching spring and which includes a rod shaped electrode extending from the center portion thereof. Upon providing relative mutually approaching movement of a battery and illuminator assembly, the rod-like cathode is engaged by the capture spring and an electrical circuit is completed to illuminate the LED. Conversely, the releasing or reverse movement under the drive imparted by the switching spring switches the assemblage to an open circuit condition.

摘要: A telephone ringer circuit having a ring signal detection network serving to detect ring signals utilizing an R-C network and operating in conjunction with a threshold responsive detection device. Upon the detection of a valid ring signal, the resistance component of the R-C network is by-passed to permit low impedance passage of electrical energy into the ringing components of the circuit. Drive for a piezoelectric crystal driven audio output is provided by two push-pull amplification stages, configured as integrators, so as to effect crystal drive with trapezoidal shaped waveforms wherein high harmonics are not evolved. Improved loudness and sound quality are achieved with the circuit.
