A medical information processing system for supporting diagnostic interpretation, featuring a data storage unit for storing an interpretation image and interpretation reference images for which a doctor will refer to interpret the interpretation image. A data loading unit loads the interpretation reference images from the data storage unit into a workstation unit according to a predetermined priority order. The data loading unit loads the images into a workstation which is selected from the workstation unit according to workstation vs. interpretation examination modality information. A diagnostic information creation unit creates diagnostic information relative to the image by inputting the doctor's findings or computerizing with a computer unit. Positions of abnormalities and degrees of the abnormalities are determined, and positions in association with the images are calculated. A diagnostic information comparing unit compares the diagnostic information with each other and creates differences between the diagnostic information as time-sequential abnormality change data. A diagnostic information output unit outputs the diagnostic information or results of comparing the diagnostic information with each other and superimposes the contents of the time-sequential abnormality change data on the associated image. The diagnostic information output unit also outputs predetermined contents for an inconsistency of the diagnostic information for the doctor's findings with the diagnostic information for the results of computerizing and includes a plurality of displays and automatically determines relational positions in which the images are displayed on the displays according to a predetermined relational information.

A data processing device applied to a computed tomography system which examines a living body utilizing radiation of X-rays is disclosed. The X-rays which have penetrated the living body are converted into electric signals in a detecting section. The electric signals are acquired and converted from an analog form into a digital form in a data acquisition section, and then supplied to a matrix data-generating section included in the data processing device. By this matrix data-generating section are generated matrix data which correspond to a plurality of projection data. These matrix data are supplied to a partial sum-producing section. The partial sums respectively corresponding to groups of the matrix data are calculated in this partial sum-producing section and then supplied to an accumulation section. In this accumulation section, the final value corresponding to the total sum of the matrix data is calculated, whereby the calculation for image reconstruction is performed.

When a transfer command for desired image data is sent from the work station to the data base, the image data from the image data registered in the data base is read-out to the work station. A migration processing unit copies image data stored in the low-speed recording medium to the high-speed recording medium in the data base. A file management unit is provided, including a management table for storing a migration index number corresponding to at least one image data in the high-speed recording medium, which was subjected to the migration processing, and including a record indicating whether the image data stored in the high-speed recording medium was accessed after the migration processing. This system may further determine whether the image data stored in the high-speed recording medium from the management table has been accessed, and, if the image data has been accessed, deleting the image data from the high-speed recording medium from the earliest accessed one.
