    摘要: An apparatus for use in a therapeutic medical procedure that may include an elongate sheath having a longitudinal axis, an outer surface a distal end and a proximal end, the elongate sheath having a first lumen having a first cross-sectional area running from an first opening at the distal end to a first point proximal the distal end and a second lumen fluidly connected to the first lumen, the second lumen having a distal end at or proximal the first point and a second cross-sectional area less than the first cross-sectional area, the second lumen having a portion running generally along the elongate axis; and an elongate member having a first portion having a third cross-sectional area, a proximal end and a distal end and having a therapeutic device disposed on the elongate member proximate the distal end, the therapeutic device having a first configuration having a fourth cross-sectional area, wherein the elongate member is disposed in the first and second lumens and the distal protection device is disposed in the first lumen, wherein when the distal protection device is disposed in the first lumen, the elongate sheath has a second opening proximate and proximal the distal protection device and a third opening proximal the second opening in which the elongate member is partially disposed, and wherein the second opening is in fluid communication with the third opening when the distal protection device is disposed in the first lumen.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are methods and apparatuses for the transmission of audio information from a bone-conduction headset to a user. The bone-conduction headset may be mounted on a glasses-style support structure. The bone-conduction transducer may be mounted near where the glasses-style support structure approach a wearer's ears. In one embodiment, an apparatus has a bone-conduction transducer with a diaphragm configured to vibrate based on a magnetic field. The magnetic field being based off an applied electric field. The apparatus may also have an anvil coupled to the diaphragm. The anvil may be configured to conduct the vibration from the bone-conduction transducer. Additionally, the anvil may be anvil may include at least one passage configured to enable the anvil to be physically coupled to the diaphragm. Thus, the anvil may be coupled to the diaphragm after the anvil is positioned on the diaphragm.

    摘要: A stent includes a first flaring portion including first and second sets of cells that flare outwardly when the stent is expanded from a contracted to a flared condition, and a second main portion connected to the first flaring portion. During use, the stent is introduced into a main vessel in the contracted condition and positioned with the first portion adjacent an ostium. The first portion is flared, causing first struts of the first set of cells to move from an axial towards a radial and partial circumferential orientation and causing second struts of the second set of cells to move from an axial towards a radial orientation. The second portion resists expansion when the first portion is flared. The stent is expanded further such that the second portion expands within the branch body lumen, and the first and second struts move towards a more circumferential orientation.

    摘要: Devices and methods for retrieving an intravascular device disposed within a blood vessel are disclosed. A retrieval device in accordance with an illustrative embodiment of the present invention includes an elongated member, a retractable dilator tip, and a retraction wire operatively coupled to the retractable dilator tip. The retraction wire can be connected to a slide mechanism that can be actuated by the physician to expose an interior cavity of the retrieval device that receives the intravascular device therein. In some embodiments, the retrieval device can include an inflatable balloon cuff, a tip deflection wire, and/or other means to facilitate advancement of the retrieval device beyond obstructions within the blood vessel.
