    摘要: The disclosure is of a silent valve in which outlet flow is in a radial direction. Intermediate the valve closure member and the outlet passage is an annular flow retarding member formed by a coiled ribbon of perforated sheet material wrapped onto itself in several layers with holes therethrough overlapping to form communicating orifices. Preferably, the ribbon is sufficiently thick that the holes form expansion chambers producing further energy loss. Holes across the width of the ribbon are uncovered progressively as the closure member moves toward open position.

    摘要: A valve including a flexible tube normally firmly engaged around a cylindrical member, as by means of a control pressure, to prevent fluid flow through radial openings through the member. When the tube is progressively forced away from the surface of the member, as by overcoming the control pressure, flow through the member to a downstream flow passage is initiated. The flow openings are formed by a series of closely axially spaced, thin annular members providing a high length-to-cross section ratio between them. The annular members may be formed non-planar to increase the length of the flow path within the radial space requirements.

    摘要: A valve structure comprising a swing-out body which is clamped between line flange connector plates by means of elongated studs with clamping nuts. Those studs which are located on, and on one side of, a diameter of the flow passages are provided with jacking nuts which may be tightened to engage the inside of the connector plates and separate them out of clamping engagement with the swing out body. A pair of hinge members welded to the swing out body have circular openings therein which rotatably receive bushings threadedably carried on one of the studs located on the aforementioned diameter. The studs without jacking nuts may be completely removed and the valve body may be pivoted out for internal inspection. Lateral slots in the hinge members permit removal of the valve body from the stud when the bushings are threaded back out of the circular openings in the hinges.

    摘要: A valve seat ring seals against a valve closure on a main sealing diameter. A trailing seal ring and an intermediate seal ring seal between the seat ring and the body on diameters respectively smaller than and larger than the main seal diameter. The annular area between these seal diameters is opposed, at least in part, at the front of the seat ring by body space pressure at a level intermediate the upstream and downstream pressure. This provides a force differential that biases the seat ring forward to seal or rearward to retract, depending upon whether upstream or downstream pressure is introduced between the seal rings.
