摘要: A data storage device comprises a storage medium for storing data in the form of marks and at least one probe for scanning the storage medium. The storage medium may be comprised in a substrate. The probe comprises a cantilever that comprises terminals serving as electrical contacts an being during operation of the probe mechanically fixed to a probe-holding structure, which may be a common frame of the data storage device. A probe further comprises a supporting structure, to which the terminals are mechanically directly coupled or coupled via hinges and which extends away from the terminals. A tip with a nanoscale apex is provided. A beam structure comprises a heating resistor and is attached at ends to the supporting structure. The beam structure is thinned at least in a direction parallel to an axis of the tip compared to an area of the supporting structure abutting the beam structure.

摘要: A machine for distributing insulation from a bag of insulation having a cross-sectional shape is provided. The machine includes a chute having an inlet end and an outlet end. The inlet end is oriented in a substantially vertical plane and is configured to receive the bag of insulation. The inlet end has opposing longitudinal sides configured to be substantially horizontal in orientation. The inlet end also has opposing lateral sides connected to the longitudinal sides. The opposing lateral sides are configured to be shorter than the opposing longitudinal sides and further configured to be substantially vertical in orientation. A plurality of shredders is mounted at the outlet end of the chute and is configured to shred and pick apart the insulation. A discharge mechanism is provided for distributing the insulation into an airstream. The chute has a cross-sectional shape that approximates the cross-sectional shape of the bag of insulation.

摘要: A method of forming an actuating mechanism for a probe storage system includes providing a scanner chip having a main body including first and second outer surfaces and first and second coil mounting cavities. First and second coils are positioned in respective ones of the first and second coil mounting cavities. First and second magnet receiving pockets are formed in a first plate with first and second magnets being positioned in corresponding ones of the first and second magnet receiving pockets. The first plate is arranged relative to one of the first and second outer surfaces of the scanner chip with the first and second magnets registering with respective ones of the first and second coils. The first plate is spaced from the one of the first and second outer surfaces by a gap of less than about 10 microns.

摘要: The invention relates to a cooling arrangement comprising a heat spreader (2) comprising a first surface (5), a second surface (8), at least one heat absorption chamber (9) and at least one heat dissipation chamber (10), the at least one heat absorption chamber (9) being in thermal contact with the first surface (5) and the at least one heat dissipation chamber (10) being in thermal contact with the second surface (8) and hydraulically coupled to the at least one heat absorption chamber (9). A cooling fluid (13) can be driven from the heat absorption chamber (9) to the heat dissipation chamber (10) using a plurality of flow patterns for cooling the first surface (5).

摘要: An electronic component system cabinet includes a plurality of electronic component system bays, and a plurality of electronic component systems mounted in respective ones of the plurality of electronic component system bays. The electronic component system cabinet further includes a cooling system including a plurality of coolant reservoirs. Each of the plurality of coolant reservoirs is associated with at least one of the plurality of electronic component system bays. The cooling system further includes at least one pump fluidly connected to each of the plurality of coolant reservoirs. The at least one pump is selectively operated to circulate a supply of coolant to each of the plurality of coolant reservoirs.

摘要: A machine for distributing insulation from a bag of insulation is provided. The machine includes a chute having an inlet end and an outlet end. The chute is configured to receive the bag of insulation. The inlet end of the chute has a cross-sectional shape that is substantially vertical and the outlet end of the chute has a cross-sectional shape that is substantially horizontal. A plurality of shredders is mounted at the outlet end of the chute and is configured to shred and pick apart the insulation. A discharge mechanism is configured for distributing the insulation into an airstream. The chute has a cross-sectional shape that approximates the cross-sectional shape of the bag of insulation and the plurality of shredders and the discharge mechanism are positioned beneath the outlet end of the chute.

摘要: A probe storage device includes a scanner chip body having at least a mechanical ground portion provided with first and second opposing surfaces and a scan table suspension portion. A scan table including a top surface and a back surface is moveably mounted to the scan table suspension portion. A probe array chip is fixedly mounted to the first surface of the mechanical ground portion. A first plate is also fixedly mounted to the first surface of the mechanical ground portion. A second plate, having a main body portion including first and second opposing surfaces, is fixedly mounted to the second surface of the mechanical ground portion. A desiccant layer is positioned upon one of the first surface of the second plate, the back surface of the scan table and one of the first and second surfaces of the mechanical ground portion.

摘要: A probe storage device includes a scanner chip having at least a suspension layer and a table layer an array chip, and at least one coil mounted to the scanner chip. The probe storage device further includes a top plate mounted proximate to the table layer. The top plate includes at least one magnet positioned adjacent the at least one coil. A base plate is mounted proximate to the suspension layer and includes at least one magnet positioned adjacent to the at least one coil. An electronic component mounting cavity is formed in one of the table layer, suspension layer, at least one top plate and base plate. An electronic component is mounted within the electronic component mounting cavity. The electronic component is wired directly to the scanner chip to provide a direct wired connection to that eliminates the need for a printed circuit board.
