Abstract:
A liquid crystal display is provided that includes a first substrate; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a field generating electrode disposed on at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate; an alignment layer disposed on the field generating electrode; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and including a liquid crystal and an alignment polymer. The alignment layer initially contains an alignment material including an initiator, and the alignment polymer initially contains an alignment aid.
Abstract:
Provided are a transformer, capable of simplifying a manufacturing process and enhancing heat dissipation characteristics and insulating characteristics by adopting a dual-bobbin structure and configuring a secondary winding as a metallic plate extending to the outside, and an electronic device including the same. Heat dissipation from a primary winding is facilitated by forming a primary winding at the outer side. Furthermore, a secondary metallic plate, although formed inside, includes extension portions to thereby facilitate heat dissipation from the secondary metallic plate. Also, by adopting a dual bobbin structure for outer and inner bobbins, a sufficient distance for insulation between the primary winding and the secondary metallic plate is ensured to thereby enhance an insulating function. Further, a manufacturing process can be simplified by forming a secondary winding as a metallic plate manufactured in advance.
Abstract:
A display substrate includes a base substrate and a unitary indivisible pixel electrode. The base substrate includes a gate line, a data line crossing the gate line and a thin-film transistor electrically connected to the gate line and the data line formed thereon. A pixel area is defined on the base substrate. The unitary indivisible pixel electrode includes a plurality of branch electrodes formed on the pixel area and a connection electrode connecting the branch electrodes to each other. Each of the branch electrodes includes a bent portion and the bent portions of adjacent branch electrodes are spaced apart from each other.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a trip mechanism for a circuit breaker, capable of maintaining a constant characteristic of a normal trip operation in spite of changes in installation angles of the circuit breaker including a horizontal installation, a perpendicular installation and an inclination installation, the trip mechanism including, a coil configured to generate a magnetic absorption force due to a fault current on a circuit, a stationary core fixed to a lower portion of the coil within the coil, a movable core movable down to the stationary core within the coil by the magnetic absorption force generated from the coil, and a trip lever rotatably to connected to the movable core so as to be pulled by the movable core when the movable core is downwardly moved and configured to trigger the switching mechanism such that the movable contactor is moved to an open circuit position.
Abstract:
An array substrate includes a lower substrate, a switching element and a pixel electrode. In the lower substrate, unit pixel areas are each divided into a plurality of domains. The switching element is disposed on the lower substrate and transmits a pixel signal. The pixel electrode is disposed on the unit pixel area and is electrically connected to the switching element. The pixel electrode includes a plurality of slit portions disposed thereon. A portion of the slit portions is longitudinally extended in a zigzag shape along different directions in correspondence with the domains.
Abstract:
Disclosed is corpus-retrieval language education system having a question/answer function. The system includes an information provider unit for dividing dialogue data and sentence data into text data, audio data and video data, storing each divided data as corpus data in a language data storing section, extracting language data corresponding to question text data inputted by a user from the language data storing section and outputting the extracted data in predetermined order of education through a network, and a subscriber unit for sending question text data to the information provider unit through the network and outputting the language data received from the information provider unit through a Web browser or a speaker. When the user inputs question text data requesting dialogues or sentences in a foreign language which are useful to communicate with native speakers, the information provider unit promptly extracts the required language data (including text data, audio data and vide data) as an answer to the user's question data. The language data can be stored in a separate storage device so that the user can form a language learning resource that will best fit his or her needs and ability.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of producing polyurethane rubber bands. The apparatus includes a first device for heating and simultaneously drawing a polyurethane sheet produced by incising polyurethane tubular film obtained according to an inflation procedure, a second device for coating a release agent onto both sides of the drawn polyurethane sheet and drying the release agent-coated polyurethane sheet, a third device for longitudinally fine-cutting the dried polyurethane sheet using fine-cutting rollers to form several tens of strips of polyurethane rubber bands, depositing starch or talc powder on both sides of the polyurethane rubber bands, and heat-processing the polyurethane rubber bands deposited by the starch or talc powder, a fourth device for dispersing the heat-processed polyurethane rubber bands to impartially stuff the polyurethane rubber bands into packing receptacles, and a fifth device for heat-aging the packed polyurethane bands in an aging compartment.
