The receiver may be configured to store and to manage a plurality of prefix lengths associated with base station types. The receiver may be configured to receive base station information from a base station. The selector may be configured to select a prefix length from the plurality of prefix length based on the received base station information. The inserter may be configured to insert a cyclic prefix having the determined prefix length in a guard interval of a transmission frame.
Abstract:
Provided is a method for automatically setting an area code by a femto access point (AP) located in a coverage area of a macro cell. The method includes receiving a broadcast signal of the macro cell, extracting an area code of the macro cell from the received broadcast signal, and setting the extracted area code as an area code of the femto cell. The femto AP sets the same area code as that of the macro cell as its area code and transmits the area code of the femto AP to the mobile station, thereby preventing the mobile station from repeating the location registration and enabling the mobile station to receive the same paging message from the femto AP and the macro cell.
Abstract:
An apparatus for multiple antennas having a low coupling coefficient in a wide frequency bandwidth in a wireless communication system is provided. To obtain the low coupling coefficient in the wide frequency bandwidth by minimizing interference between antennas which are close to each other, without an additional device, in the wireless communication system, the apparatus includes a transceiver and a line for decreasing a coupling coefficient. The transmitter includes a first antenna and a second antenna for transmitting and receiving signals over a radio channel and the line is indirectly connected the first antenna and the second antenna using a physically disconnected line.
Abstract:
Described embodiments provide for handover in a long term evolution (LTE) communication network. A LTE macrocell base station may receive a measurement report from user equipment while providing a communication service to the user equipment located within a service area of the LTE macrocell base station, and determine whether or not the neighbor cell is a LTE macrocell or a LTE femtocell based on the measurement report. The LTE macrocell base station may initiate hand-over of the user equipment to a neighbor WCDMA macrocell base station when the neighbor cell is determined as the LTE femtocell.
Abstract:
In an air conditioning system, a first controller converts the communication method of an external command inputted into the second controller and transmits the same to an air conditioner. Further, the first controller displays operating information of the air conditioner. Accordingly, the structure of the air conditioning system is simplified, and installation costs are reduced.
Abstract:
Provided is a pressure-balanced underwater acoustic transducer. The transducer includes an oscillator unit having an oscillator oscillating by an electrical signal supplied to electrodes, provided on its surface, a sound transmission material for transmitting sound from the oscillator, provided at its periphery, and a transducer housing provided at the exterior of the sound transmission material, a sound reflector positioned over the oscillator unit, for reflecting sound propagated from the oscillator, a water entry layer formed at a space between the oscillator unit and the sound reflector to allow water to enter and exit to the rear window of the oscillator, thereby leading to a balanced state of pressures applied to the front and rear windows of the oscillator, and a phase combiner for combining sound reflected from the sound reflector and straight traveling sound generated from the front window of the oscillator into one single phase. Therefore, the effect of underwater pressure on an oscillator is minimized, thereby manufacturing a highly reliable, cost-effective underwater acoustic transducer for deep sea. Also, even when the transducer is used for shallow sea, little deformation occurs over usage time.
Abstract:
An apparatus with a metal member used as at least one of an antenna and a sensor element in a portable terminal is disclosed. The apparatus includes the metal member, responsive to a sensed body, and for transmitting and receiving a signal in at least one or more communication service bands, and a main board having a communication module for processing a signal transmitted and received by the metal member and a sensor module for obtaining information in response to the approach of a sensed body.
Abstract:
Provided are apparatus and method for controlling handover to prevent femtocell interference. The apparatus may include an event receiving module, a handover determining module, and an inter-frequency processing module. The event receiving module may be configured to receive a control message from user equipment. The handover determining module may be configured to analyze the received control message and determine whether the control message includes a request of inter-cell handover from a first cell base station of the first cell to a second cell base station of one of the second cells. The inter-frequency processing module may be configured to perform inter-frequency handover using an unshared frequency when the handover determining module determines that the control message includes the request of inter-cell handover.

Abstract:
Provided is an air conditioning system which can automatically switch the operating mode of at least one indoor unit based on the difference between a measured indoor temperature provided by an indoor temperature sensor and a predefined set indoor temperature and then set a new set indoor temperature. The air conditioning system does not require a user to manually switch the operating mode of the indoor unit, thereby maximizing user convenience. In addition, the air conditioning system can maintain optimum room temperature.
