Vertical system for the plating treatment of a work piece, the system comprising at least two treatment modules, wherein retaining devices for the work pieces are provided in the treatment modules, and at least one transport device including at least one gripping device, which retains the work piece and has a respective fastening device, and each fastening device comprises first and second clamping devices, each associated with one side of the work piece, wherein both the first and second clamping devices are displaceable for gripping and releasing the work pieces, wherein the gripping device comprises at least two fastening devices that are spaced apart from one another, each of the first and second clamping devices are moveable torsion bars as a result of which the work piece is tensioned between the fastening devices during clamping parallel to its first side.

The present invention relates to a vertical system for the plating treatment of a work piece (W), the said system including at least two treatment modules (100) and at least one transport device for conveying at least one work piece (W) to a treatment module (100) and for transferring the work piece (W) to retaining devices (130) in the treatment module (100). The retaining devices (130) for the work piece (W) are provided in the treatment modules (100). The transport device includes at least one gripping device (10) retaining the work piece (W) each with at least one fastening device (20, 30). Each fastening device (20, 30) includes first clamping devices (25, 35) that are each associated with one side of the work piece (W) and second clamping devices (26). At least one first clamping device (25, 35) associated with a first side of the work piece (W) is designed and disposed such that the position of the first side of the work piece (W) can be defined by the first clamping device (25, 35). At least one second clamping device (26) associated with a second side of the work piece (W) is designed and disposed such that a clamping force can be exerted onto the work piece (W) by the said clamping device. Both the first clamping device (25, 35) and the second clamping device (26) are moveable. According to the invention, the gripping device (10) is actuated as follows: a) moving the first clamping device (25, 35) such that the first clamping device (25, 35) takes over a contact position and thereby the position of the first side of the work piece (W) is defined, and b) moving the second clamping device (26) such that the second clamping device (26) takes over a clamping position and the work piece (W) is thereby clamped together with the at least one first clamping device (25, 35). In doing so the first clamping device (25, 35) takes over the contact position before the second clamping device (26) takes the clamping position.

To ensure a uniform flow over the surface of a product W, an apparatus is provided for the wet chemical treatment of the product W that is disposed in the apparatus 100. This apparatus comprises at least one flow member 150 that includes respectively at least one paddle-like flow element 155, wherein at least one flow member 155 is disposed situated opposite the surface of the product W and is moveable substantially parallel to the surface of the product W.

A conveying device according to the invention for moving stock to be conveyed (1), in the form of printed circuit boards or conductor foils to be treated, in wet-chemical or electrolytic surface treatment plants, comprises conveying means (2) which, by a rotational movement, move the stock to be conveyed (1) in a conveying direction, spindle parts (4) with a thread-like structure (8, 9) at an outer surface, and rotation means in the form of mating wheels (5) provided with cams (6), the cams (6) engaging in the thread-like structure (8, 9) of the spindle part (4) and thus imparting a uniform rotational movement to the conveying means (2). The spindle parts (4) are preferably mounted on a drive shaft (3) which is arranged parallel to the conveying direction of the stock to be conveyed (1).

In a method for the conveying of workpieces such as printed circuit boards along a conveying path in steps wherein for temporary buffering storage the workpieces are diverted along at least one loop with two temporary storage paths running in opposite directions, the invention ensures that the workpieces are not inverted and are kept in the same order since the length of such paths being changed jointly in a way dependent on an increase and decrease of the degree of charging thereof, in the case of which after each number of steps, equal to the number of steps of the conveying path the overall temporary storage device is moved by one step and therebetween after each step of the conveying path the temporary paths are moved with the temporary storage device inactive through respectively one step and after each movement of the temporary storage paths with the temporary storage device inactive and the end of the temporary paths there is a parallel transfer of the workpieces from one temporary storage path to the next one.
