The present invention relates to a photoelectric conversion element comprising a first electrode, a photoelectric conversion layer comprising a semiconductor and a sensitizing dye, and a solid hole transport layer, and a second electrode, on a substrate, wherein the sensitizing dye is represented by the general formula (1) and the solid hole transport layer comprises a polymer obtainable by polymerizing a compound represented by the following general formula (2) or a multimer of the compound.
