    摘要: The present invention provides methods and non-fluorescent carbocyanine quencher compounds having the general formula: Wherein the A moiety is a substituted pyridinium, unsubstituted pyridinium, substituted quinolinium, unsubstituted quinolinium, substituted benzazolium, unsubstituted benzazolium, substituted indolinium, or substituted indolinium. The invention further provides luminescent donor molecule-quencher pairs and luminescent donor molecule-quencher-luminescent acceptor molecule conjugates wherein the quencher is a cyanine compound of the present invention. The energy transfer pairs are used to detect an analyte of interest in a sample.

    摘要: Novel methyne dyes comprising two auxochromic groups of the type used in a cyanine or merocyanine dye linked by a carbon atom chain wherein each of the carbon atoms have an unsaturated linkage to at least one adjacent carbon atom in the chain and at least one pair of carbon atoms in the chain being joined by a triple bond or, in an alternate resonance form, the chain including three consecutive carbon to carbon double bonds. The dyes are useful as spectral sensitizing dyes for silver halide emulsions and as intermediates for synthesizing chain-substituted methine dyes.

    摘要: An extensive range of Mu -substituted carbocyanine dyes are prepared by reacting a Mu -chloro-carbocyanine dye with a reagent having a reactive nucleophilic residue which replaces the Mu -chloro substituent. The dyes which can be so prepared include novel dyes wherein the reactive nucleophilic residue is less nucleophilic than those presently employed. The resultant novel dyes are useful as coloring materials and as spectral sensitizers for photographic silver halide.
