The invention relates to a reflector for an infrared radiating element. The reflector comprises a metal foil coated with—a first oxide layer deposited on the metal foil; —an infrared reflecting metal layer deposited on said first oxide layer; and—a second oxide layer deposited on said infrared reflecting layer. The first oxide layer is functioning as a diffusion barrier layer and is preventing the diffusion of the metal of the infrared reflecting layer in the substrate. The second oxide layer is functioning as a protective layer for the infrared reflecting layer giving the infrared reflecting layer the required thermal stability.

The invention relates to an infra-red reflecting layered structure comprising a transparent substrate layer; a first metal oxide layer; a first silver containing layer, a second metal oxide layer; a second silver containing layer and a third metal oxide layer. The first, second and third metal oxide layer have a refractive index of at least 2.40 at a wavelength of 500 nm. The layered structure according to the present invention laminated on glass has a visual light transmittance (VLT) higher than 70% and a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) lower than 0.44. The invention further relates to the use of a layered structure as a transparent heat-mirror.

A material is disclosed which is suitable for reducing the reflection of information displays such as a CRT, LCD, plasma tube, etc., and is characterised by an improved pencil hardness and excellent optical properties (lower average reflection, higher bandwidth). The anti-reflection material of the invention comprises an anti-reflective coating 20 and an optional top coat 10 on a flexible glass substrate 30 that is capable of being wound around a cylindrical core having a radius of 1.5 m. In a preferred method of the present invention the glass substrate 30 is provided with anti-reflective coating 20 using a continuous web coating process while being laminated to a polymer support 50 by using adhesive layer 40. Upon delamination (arrows 60) the adhesive layer 40 may remain fixed to glass substrate 30 (right embodiment of FIG. 1) or to polymer support 50 (left embodiment of FIG. 1). After said delamination the glass substrate 30 provided with anti-reflective coating 20 may be adhered to the front panel of an information display device.

An antipiliferage tag comprising a soft-magnetic thin film (100) for use as an active element in an electronic article surveillance (E.A.S.) system. The film (100) has an easy axis (102) with a particular direction. The tag has been folded along at least one folding line (104) so that the tag comprises at least two layers which at least partially overlap with each other. The folding line (104) forms an oblique angle different from zero with the direction of the easy axis (102) so that the direction of the easy axis (102) in one layer is different from the direction of the easy axis (106) in another layer. In this way an antipiliferage tag which is insensitive to its orientation in a detection gate of an E.A.S. system is obtained.
