Abstract:
A power management method for a host computer, which is coupled to a USB hub, is provided. It prevents the USB hub from entering into a suspend mode while the host computer stays in a host active state. The method includes the following steps: a filter driver is loaded. When detecting a specified event, the filter driver issues a device sleep IRP request to control the USB hub enter into a suspend mode. Wherein the specified event represents that the host computer enters into a host sleep state.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a computer peripheral apparatus. The computer peripheral apparatus includes an USB hub, at least one build-in card reader, and a controller. Each build-in card reader is electrically connected to one built-in downstream port of the USB hub. The controller connects to the USB hub and the build-in card reader to monitor the connection requirement of the build-in card reader. When the controller determines the build-in card reader does not need to be kept connected, the controller sets the status of its corresponding built-in downstream port as a “first status,” which defines the corresponding built-in downstream port is not connected. Thus, the computer system is informed that the built-in downstream port is not connected. Therefore, if there are no USB devices connecting to other downstream ports of the USB hub, the entire computer peripheral apparatus can enter into hibernation mode, thereby lowering the power consumption
Abstract:
A card reader that can enhance the efficiency of the application system is embedded in the application system. The application system has an external memory drive. The card reader includes at least one memory card connector, a flash memory, and a control unit. The memory card connector is used for being plugged with a memory card. The flash memory is driven and integrated by the external memory drive. The control unit is electrically connected with the memory card connector and the flash memory and is used for transmitting data between the memory card and the flash memory and the application system via the control unit. Thereby, the flash memory can be used as an extended memory of the application system. The total memory of the application system increases, and the efficiency of the application system is enhanced.
Abstract:
An integrated hub control chip is applied to a motherboard of an application system. The integrated hub control chip contains an upstream port transceiver, an upstream port controller, a relaying circuit unit, a keyboard control module, a digital camera control module, a storage medium control module, and a relaying circuit controller. The keyboard control module, the digital camera control module, and the storage medium control module are directly connected to the relaying circuit controller. The relaying circuit controller switches the transmission path of the relaying circuit unit according to the transmission speed of these control modules. The upstream port controller controls the transmission direction of the upstream port transceiver to accomplish the data communication with the motherboard. The objects of saving the circuit space of motherboard, reducing the hardware cost, and increasing the purposes and expansibility of the integrated hub control chip can therefore be achieved.

Abstract:
A method for data collection using an electronic device operates in a network. The electronic device stores stacks and one of the stacks stores a database and a service agent. The service agent associates objects related to the service agent. The electronic device determines whether the instance identifications associated with the service agent are deleted from a database. If the instance identifications associated with the service agent have been deleted, a Remote Procedure Call protocol command is sent to the service agent. Accordingly, the electronic device can determine the objects detected corresponding to instance identifications stored in the Remote Procedure Call protocol command.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a video/audio module applied to a computer system. The video/audio module includes a circuit board, at least one analog microphone unit, and at least one analog-to-digital converter. The analog microphone unit and the analog-to-digital converter are electrically connected and fixed to the circuit board. The analog microphone unit captures an audio signal from ambient air and converts it to an analog audio signal. The analog-to-digital converter receives the analog audio signal and transforms the analog audio signal into a digital audio signal. Because of the analog-to-digital converter, a digital microphone unit can be replaced by the analog microphone unit, thereby reducing the production cost of the video/audio module.
Abstract:
An electronic storage card reader applied to a computer system includes a system port, a control chip, a first card insertion part, and a second card insertion part. The system port is connected to a computer system. The control chip is connected to the system port for converting and transmitting data with the computer system. Each of the first card insertion part and the second card insertion part includes a plurality of card insertion slots connected with the control chip and provided for inserting a memory card. The control chip independently accesses the memory cards inserted into the card insertion slots of the first card insertion part, integrates the memory cards inserted into the card insertion slots of the second card insertion part to form a merged storage space, and accesses the merged storage space. The invention allows the electronic storage card reader to have a single larger storage capacity.

Abstract:
A bridging device with power-saving function includes first and second interfaces, first and second physical layer processing devices, and a controller. The first interface is utilized for coupling a first external device complying with the first interface. The first external device receives a device request signal, and accordingly sends back a device response signal through the first physical layer processing device. The second interface is utilized for coupling a second external device complying with the second interface. The controller is coupled between the first and the second physical layer processing device for transmitting the device request signal with the predetermined frequency to the first physical layer processing device in order to receive the device response signal. When the controller does not receive the device response signal, the controller turns the second physical layer processing device off.
