Abstract:
An electrically assisted, power steering system for motor vehicles having an input shaft (6) connected to a pinion shaft (2) by a torsionally elastic member (5) is supported in a steering housing (1) by a rolling bearing. The rolling bearing is formed as an elastic, flexible roller bearing (13), whose cylinder rollers (13.5, 13.6) have at least at one peripheral position an elastically deformable cylinder roller (13.6), having a diameter that is slightly greater than a diameter of the other cylinder rollers (13.5). In this way, an exact guidance of the input shaft (6) is achieved, so that the applied steering torque can be used accurately by an evaluation unit (15) for controlling the servo motor (7).
Abstract:
A tensioner for a traction member, in particular a belt of a traction drive for an internal combustion engine, includes a base constructed for rotation about a rotation axis and having a pivot arm. The pivot arm has a free end for connection of a rotatable tension roller which bears against a traction member. A spring member urges the pivot arm to seek a forced engagement of the tension roller upon the traction member. Disposed between the base and the pivot arm is a damping element for damping an adjusting movement of the pivot arm. A pivot bearing supporting one portion of the base on a machine part for rotation about the rotation axis, whereby the rotation of the base in relation to the machine part is realized by an actuator to thereby adjust a biasing force of the traction member.
Abstract:
A bearing arrangement for supporting a universal joint trunnion in an outer cup includes a radial bearing having cylindrical rolling elements disposed between the trunnion and the outer cup, and a resistance member made of a material to allow elastic deformation and bearing upon a confronting surface area of an end surface of the trunnion. The resistance member and the trunnion are hereby so configured either alone or in combination as to form a large lubricant reservoir. Disposed at a distance to the end surface of the trunnion is a stop member to define an axial gap, whereby the stop member inhibits an axial movement of the trunnion after the trunnion has moved in axial direction to close the gap.
Abstract:
A bevel-pinion shaft (5) of a differential of a motor vehicle is supported in a housing (1) by two spaced unilaterally loadable double-row tandem angular-contact ball bearings (16,17) which face each other in an O-arrangement. Compared to the classical support by conical-roller bearings, a substantially lower frictional moment and substantially lower bearing wear are attained by the bearing arrangement of the present invention.
Abstract:
A clutch release bearing includes a housing, a first bearing ring having a skirt for fixed rotative securement of the bearing ring to the housing, a revolving second bearing ring connected to the separating clutch via a spring element, and a plurality of rolling elements guided between the first and second bearing rings. Seals are provided on both sides of the rolling elements at a distance thereto, wherein one seal is configured to seal an annular gap between the first and second bearing rings and includes a sealing arrangement which is securely fixed to the first bearing ring and comprised of at least two components to establish two sealing zones, wherein the second bearing ring and the sealing arrangement interact in such a way that a desired installation position of the sealing arrangement is automatically establishes as the second bearing ring is installed.
Abstract:
A two-stage sealing arrangement for sealing an annular gap between an outer bearing ring and an inner bearing ring of a rolling-contact bearing, includes a first sealing element securely fixed to the outer bearing ring and having at least one sealing lip supported against the inner bearing ring. A second sealing element is disposed at an axial distance to the first sealing element, thereby defining a circular ring shaped sealing gap in a radial direction for accommodating, at least partially, a sealing material.
Abstract:
A connecting rod according to the invention is joined together from two sheet-metal parts (3, 4). The connecting rod has an upper connecting-rod eye (1) and a lower connecting-rod eye (2). The two sheet-metal parts (3, 4) each have a socket (11, 12) and a collar (7, 8) in each case forming one of the connecting-rod eyes (1, 2), the one collar (7, 8) of the one sheet-metal part (3, 4) engaging in the socket (11, 12) of the other sheet-metal part (3, 4), and the collar (7, 8) of the other sheet-metal part engaging in the socket (11, 12) of the first sheet-metal part (3, 4).
Abstract:
A gearshift device for a multiple-gear change box of a vehicle includes at least two gearshift rods with a rectangular cross-section. A roller bearing and a locking device are provided for guiding and locking the gearshift rods, with each gearshift rod having its own locking element.
Abstract:
A rotating piston positioning device to adjust the angle of rotation of a camshaft with respect to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. The device includes a drive member (5) that is driven by the crankshaft and a driven member (10) that is fixed to the camshaft (4). At least the driven member (10) of the device (1) is formed of a lightweight metal and is bolted to the camshaft (4) by a central fastening screw (13), whereas the drive member (5) is radially supported external to the driven member (10) and transfers force to the driven member by at least two hydraulic pressure chambers located inside the device (1). The conical zone of force from the fastening screw (13) to the driven member (10) is carried by a special collar (16) made of a compression-resistant material that at the same time is a prefabricated pressure medium distributor of the device (1). The driven member (10) is shape-locked and/or friction locked to this collar axially, radially and circumferentially, and is bolted together with it to the camshaft (4) without deforming.
Abstract:
A tappet (1) for the transfer of a lifting motion to a sliding part is provided having two parts, including a circular shaped section (2) with a base (5) connected to it as one piece and a separate dome-shaped socket (9) connected to the base (5) made of thin-walled material with a contact surface (10) for the sliding part. The tappet (1), whose socket (9) extends over a considerable length of the circular shaped section (2), can be economically manufactured.
