Abstract: An electric powertrain includes a first electric motor that has an uninterrupted connection with a drive shaft of a vehicle. The electric powertrain further includes a second electric motor that has an interruptible connection with the drive shaft. In one form, this interruptible connection includes a clutch. The electric powertrain further includes a first gear train in the form of a first planetary gear and a second gear train in the form of a second planetary gear. The clutch in one variation includes a positive clutch in the form of a dog clutch. The dog clutch has a clutch suspension configured to deflect a clutch collar when gearing is misaligned during shifting.

Abstract: A constant-mesh type transmission for straddled vehicle with a ratchet mechanism is configured to be mounted on a straddled vehicle and has five or more gear stages in addition to a neutral position. The transmission includes an input shaft; five or more drive gears; an output shaft; an odd-numbered stage hub and an even-numbered stage hub; a plurality of odd-numbered stage driven gears; a plurality of even-numbered stage driven gears; a dog engagement mechanism; and a ratchet mechanism. The ratchet mechanism has an odd-numbered stage accelerating pawl, an odd-numbered stage decelerating pawl, an even-numbered stage accelerating pawl, an even-numbered stage decelerating pawl, and a ratchet control mechanism.

Abstract: The invention relates to a shifting device for a motor vehicle transmission, comprising a first coupling component, a second coupling component rotatable about a transmission axis (A), an inner friction ring which has a conical surface on a radially outer face, an outer friction ring which has a conical surface on a radially inner face, and an intermediate friction ring which comprises a friction cone and is connected to the second coupling component for joint rotation with and for axial displacement with respect to the second coupling component, whilst the inner friction ring and the outer friction ring are connected to the first coupling component for joint rotation with and for axial displacement with respect to the first coupling component. The friction cone extends between the conical surfaces of the inner friction ring and outer friction ring, the coupling components being decoupled in the rotation direction in an axial starting position of the outer friction ring and being coupled in a frictional fit in the rotation direction in an axial frictional fit position of the outer friction ring. The intermediate friction ring has a C-shaped ring cross section extending peripherally in the circumferential direction, comprising a radially outer linear cone limb which forms the friction cone and comprises two substantially parallel conical friction surfaces, and comprising a radially inner linear axial limb which is integrally connected to the cone limb by a radial web.

Abstract: A compact clutch including a driven shaft on which the following are mounted: a gear wheel; a driving bush; a driven bush; a coil spring; a first collar with cam surfaces; and a second collar with cam surfaces. The gear wheel and the bushes are arranged axially next to each other; the gear wheel and the driving bush are constrained together in the circumferential direction; the spring surrounds externally the bushes; the first collar surrounds externally the spring; and the second collar surrounds externally the first collar. The gear wheel and the bushes are constrained to the driven shaft in the axial direction by means of two stop rings; and the driven bush is constrained to the driven shaft in the circumferential direction by means of at least one tongue.

Abstract: Disclosed is a shifting execution mechanism for a dual clutch transmission, including a front shell, a rear shell, at least two hydraulic cylinders and at least one connecting sleeve. The at least two hydraulic cylinders are mounted along the same axis, two ends of the hydraulic cylinders are clamped between the front shell and the rear shell. Each hydraulic cylinder is mounted with a shifter, a positioning seat, and two sealing plates. Every two adjacent hydraulic cylinders are connected together through one connecting sleeve. A first hydraulic chamber is defined between the connecting sleeve and the sealing plate located adjacent to the connecting sleeve in each hydraulic cylinder. A second hydraulic chamber is defined between the front shell and the sealing plate located adjacent to the front shell. A third hydraulic chamber is defined between the rear shell and the sealing plate located adjacent to the rear shell.

Abstract: A vehicle transfer case is provided including input and output shafts mounted within a housing, a secondary shaft selectively driven by the output shaft, a first hub having an inner diameter splined section having a first extreme neutral position with exclusive torsional engagement with the output shaft, and in a second intermediate high position having torsional engagement with the output shaft and input shafts, and in a third extreme low position having exclusive torsional engagement with the input shaft. A second hub is provided, rotatably mounted on the first hub and axially fixed therewith. The second hub is torsionally fixed to the output shaft, and a shift fork is provided to translate the second hub. A planetary gear set is provided, having a ring gear, a plurality of planet gears connected to each other by a carrier and a sun gear; and wherein in the extreme neutral position the output shaft is disengaged from the input shaft, and in the second intermediate position the input shaft is directly connected to the output shaft without rotating the planetary gear set, and in the extreme third position the first hub torsionally connects the input shaft to the sun gear, and the second hub is connected with the carrier.

Abstract: In a speed change apparatus for a vehicle, a controller stores as a clutch-disengaging shift spindle angle θ1 a position at which a clutch is disengaged when a shift spindle is rotated in a first direction. The controller controls the shift spindle by a first step W1 of rotating the shift spindle in the first direction until a disengaging-side target angle Ta1 is reached; a second step W2 of returning the shift spindle in a second direction opposite to the first direction; and a third step W3 of rotating the shift spindle in the first direction up to the clutch-disengaging shift spindle angle θ1 and thereafter rotating the shift spindle in the second direction to return the shift spindle, upon detection of an output from a drum angle sensor, the output corresponding to shallow engagement of dog teeth.
