摘要： A device for interventional surgical or medical procedures is presented. The device is generally in the form of a balloon and is used to position itself or other working elements up against or through lumen walls in the body. The balloon is comprised of at least two materials of different elastic modulus, which allows for a flexible but relatively non-distensible, unfolding component of the balloon as well as an elastomeric, inflatable component of the balloon. The elastomeric component is fixedly attached to the flexible but relatively non-distensible component and together they form a pressure vessel that can be inflated within the lumens of the body.

摘要： Electrode placement and connection systems are described which allow for the electrical connection and maintenance of one or more electrodes positioned on a substrate which is subjected to a variety of mechanical stresses. Such a system may include an imaging hood having an aperture through which transparent fluid is flowed and one or more electrodes positioned along or about the hood. As the hood is configured between a low-profile and opened configuration, these electrodes may remain electrically coupled despite the mechanical stresses subjected to the electrodes and the connections thereto.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for improved administration of brachytherapy in the treatment of prostate disease. More particularly, a prostate visualization device is provided comprising a catheter coupled to at least one deployable member at the distal end of the catheter. The deployable member is preferably manufactured from a shape memory alloy having a petal-shaped configuration suitable for engaging and defining the proximal region of a patient's bladder. The deployable member may comprise tubing filled with air or other radiopaque agents to facilitate ultrasonic imaging of the deployable members near the bladder/prostate junction.

A method for treating a sinus opening includes inserting a medical device for the treatment of a sinus opening partially into a patient's anatomy, positioning a guide wire operatively extending from a rail of the medical device into a sinus opening of the patient, advancing a balloon catheter from an annular lumen of the medical device and along both the rail of the medical device and the guide wire with a balloon catheter movement mechanism, and inflating the balloon catheter.

摘要： Medical device having a counter for recording usage. A medical tool is provided having a proximal extremity. The tool having a collar fixed thereto and a cap. The cap includes a part which requires replacement and/or cleaning for each use of the tool. A detent assembly is carried by the cap and the collar and includes a rotatable counter wheel and a mechanism for causing advancement of the counter wheel from one number to the next number when the cap is separated from the collar so that the counter wheel is advanced by one increment each time the cap is removed and/or replaced on the collar to give an indication of the number of times that the device has been used.

摘要： This invention is directed to a member which is mounted on an elongated intraluminal device such as a catheter or a guidewire, preferably the proximal portion thereof, which releasably holds at least one turn of a coiled product. The coiled product may be the intraluminal device on which the fixture is mounted or it may be a separate product. In one embodiment of the invention, the turn holding member has a body and at least one flexible arm which holds a turn against the body of the fixture. In another embodiment of the invention, the holding member is a tubular element having a wall portion with a spirally shaped cutout through which a turn of coiled product can be advanced into the inner lumen or the tubular element.
