摘要: An ergonomically designed pipette tip that can be securely mounted to a barrel of a pipetter yet is designed to substantially reduce the axial force necessary to install and eject the pipette tip from the pipetter thus reducing the injuries resulting in repetitive stress injury to the thumb and hand. The new ergonomic pipette tip incorporates a separate sealing member constructed from an elastomer that is coupled to the more rigid and chemically inert elongated tubular member that becomes the receptacle for transferring the fluid sample aspirated by the pipetter. The new elastomeric sealing member allows for greater sealing capability or squeeze between the pipetter barrel and the new pipette tip while lowering the coefficient of friction between the mating parts, thus decreasing the axial ejection forces require to overcome the breakaway friction between the new ergonomic pipette tip and the pipetter.

摘要: An ergonomically designed pipette tip that can be securely mounted to a barrel of a pipetter yet is designed to substantially reduce the axial force necessary to install and eject the pipette tip from the pipetter. An improved pipette tip that includes the addition of an elastomeric material and cooperative means for insuring uniform interference and depth of penetration of the pipetter barrel as successive barrels are inserted and ejected. Also disclosed is an improved multiple-tip configuration with similar features that can be mounted to multiple barrels of a multi-pipetter as one tip instead of 8 or 12 individual tips. The addition of the elastomeric material allows for better sealing and eliminates alignment issues, high installation and ejection requirements while reducing the hand and thumb forces that due to repeated use will sometimes result in repetitive stress injury.

摘要: A system and method for safely and effectively restraining a person having hands restrained by handcuffs joined by a connecting element is disclosed. An enclosure is placed around the hands and handcuffs the person to be secured. The enclosure includes a pair of walls defining an opening, each wall having a top peripheral edge and an aperture spaced apart from the top peripheral edge. A fastening element is extended through the apertures of the walls and fastened to restrict the movement of the hands and handcuffs of the person. The fastening element encircles the opening and top peripheral edges of the walls of the enclosure but does not encircle the connecting element of the handcuffs.

摘要: An ergonomically designed pipette tip that can be securely mounted to a barrel of a pipetter yet is designed to substantially reduce the axial force necessary to install and eject the pipette tip from the pipetter. The ergonomic pipette tip includes molded-in expansion joints and/or the addition of a second elastic material to decrease the amount of force necessary to radially expand the entrance to the pipette tip when the pipetter barrel is guided and stability oriented towards the sealing region of the pipette tip. Also disclosed is an ergonomic adapter with similar features as the tip that can also be mounted to the barrel of the pipetter and attached to a standard pipette tip or a combination of tips. Therefore, the relatively small axial forces necessary for mounting and ejecting the new ergonomic tip and adapter can substantially help to reduce the hand and thumb forces, that due to repeated use, will sometimes result in repetitive stress injury.

摘要: An apparatus for dispensing a small amount of a viscous liquid material onto a substrate, the apparatus comprising a housing and piston positioned within the housing and having a lower surface and a flow bore extending therein, the flow bore having an inlet for receiving the viscous liquid material and an outlet. The apparatus further includes a compressible dispensing element positioned within the housing below and in liquid tight sealing engagement with the lower surface of the piston and having a passage extending therethrough, the passage having an inlet in liquid communication with the outlet of the flow bore and an outlet. The lower surface of the piston is capable of applying a force to compress the dispensing element causing the passage to at least partially close expelling a small amount of the viscous liquid material from the outlet of the passage. The apparatus has a nozzle in liquid communication with the outlet of the passage for guiding the small amount of viscous liquid material expelled from the outlet of the passage onto the substrate.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for dispensing droplets of liquid or viscous material. The apparatus generally comprises a valve operated dispenser and a control for moving the valve member with respect to a valve seat in rapid succession. This rapidly accelerates liquid or viscous material in a stream from the dispenser outlet and immediately breaks the stream into a minute droplet. Various embodiments of the valve seat include both rigid valve seats and resilient valve seats. Resilient valve seats are especially useful for dispensing solder pastes as they can prevent material flaking, compacting and clogging conditions. Low friction polymer or plastic material for dispenser components such as the valve member and outlet structure can also prevent such problems.

摘要: A wastegate valve for use with turbocharged engines. The wastegate valve vents exhaust gasses upstream of the turbocharger high pressure turbine to reduce turbocharger speed and associated boost pressure. The wastegate valve includes a piston attached to a poppet valve and movable within a housing. The housing receives pressurized intake gasses at a side of the piston to actuate the popper valve between open and closed positions. A diaphragm is sealingly disposed between the piston and housing. The housing includes mechanical stop means to limit the piston travel, thereby reducing flexure of the diaphragm. Additionally, the diaphragm is disposed in the housing in such a way that the diaphragm flexes between reduced peak compressive and tensile stresses.

摘要: Hanger device for clothing and particularly womens under garments which includes an elongated flat, plastic body (10) having a central hook section (15) and including at each end a depending end portion (32,34). The end sections include a saw tooth type slot (30) extending upwardly and inwardly at a predetermined angle from end edge (20). The saw tooth shape of the slot defines a series of coacting triangular teeth. The depending end sections include a flexible lower end portion (34). A second slot (40) may be included to angle downwardly and outwardly from the top edges (16) if desired.

摘要: A method of atomizing a high solids viscous composition onto a substrate and foaming the composition comprising mixing a coating composition with a gas foaming agent under elevated pressure and temperature. The coating composition is airlessly atomized and projected onto a substrate. The gas remains dissolved in the coating after depositing on the substrate which causes the coating to foam after striking the substrate. The method provides a permanent foam coating composition with uniform cell distribution. The method is particularly suitable for foaming polymeric coatings such as plastisols and foods such as peanut butter or chocolate.
