    摘要： A mechanical fastener including a plurality of engaging stems located in unordered arrangements, which repeat on a substrate. A preferred embodiment of the invention provides a mechanical fastener with a plurality of repeating unordered arrangements, where the arrangements repeat in more than one direction. The unordered arrangements of the engaging stems allow pairs of the fasteners to interengage with themselves, or in other words, to self-mate. Additionally, the unordered arrangements of engaging stems allow the fasteners to interengage at any relative angular orientation with a relatively constant engagement force, and a relatively constant disengagement force regardless of their angular orientation. The unordered arrangements of engaging stems also allow pairs of fasteners to interengage at any relative planar position with a relatively constant engagement force and a relatively constant disengagement force regardless of their planar position.

    摘要： The present invention provides a banding system, banding tape and method of using the same, each of which is particularly useful a variety of items such as flowers, straws, pens, pencils, newspapers, and vegetables. The banding system comprises a first strip and second strip. The first strip comprises an elastic polymeric material having a percent recovery of at least 50% after being elongated to 100% of its original length. The first and second strips are capable of being bonded together. The banding tape comprises a strip of elastic polymeric material having inner and outer surfaces and a nontacky layer on at least a portion of at least one of the surfaces. The method of using the banding system or tape of the invention comprises the steps of collecting one or more objects into a bundle, wrapping, stretching and securing the system or tape around the bundle, and allowing the elastic strip to at least partially recover to exert a compressive force on the bundle which holds the bundle together. The present invention further provides a bundle secured by either the novel banding system or banding tape, and tape comprising an elastic strip that has been printed with a bar code.

The polyolefin first substrate has graft-polymerized thereto at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of sulfonic and carboxylic acids and alkyl esters thereof containing fewer than eight carbon atoms in the ester group, amides, and mono- and di-substituted amides, alcohols, amines, and 5-, 6-, and 7-membered heterocyclic rings having at least one oxygen and/or nitrogen atoms in the ring, with the proviso that said monomer contain an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable moiety. The graft-polymerized monomers are in a layer less than 5 micrometers in thickness and contact the epoxy adhesive.
