Abstract:
The invention generally relates to methods and devices for synchronization of ion generation with cycling of a discontinuous atmospheric interface. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a system for analyzing a sample that includes a mass spectrometry probe that generates sample ions, a discontinuous atmospheric interface, and a mass analyzer, in which the system is configured such that ion formation is synchronized with cycling of the discontinuous atmospheric interface.
Abstract:
A contactless gate position sensor includes an optical time-of-flight sensor positioned within a predetermined proximity of a gate for detecting a closed position of the gate and an open position of the gate. The optical time-of-flight sensor has a predetermined field of view. When a predetermined portion of the gate is within the predetermined field of view, a status of the gate is set to a closed status. When the predetermined portion of the gate is outside the predetermined field of view, the status of the gate is set to an open status. The status is detected by the optical time-of-flight sensor and transmitted using a data communication network.
Abstract:
A barbecue grill, have an enclosed cooking container resting upon a support structure, the cooking enclosure having walls that enclose the cooking area and a clamshell lid for access, heating elements in the lower portion of the enclosure, connected to a fuel source, and containing within the cooking enclosure heating elements in the lower portion, grills for holding food and exposing it to the circulating air in the superior portion, and a drawer or drawers for wood, water, or other substances, which can be exposed to heat for the creation of smoke, steam or other result, consequently enabling the standard grilling process, but also providing a low skill, low effort means of enabling the slow smoking process as well as the simulated cooking of food over a wood fire.
Abstract:
An assembly and method capable of preventing power interruption from a power supply that provides power through a cable to electrical equipment. The assembly includes first and second members, each having a base and a first extension projecting therefrom to define a recess. At least one of the first extensions has a channel defined therein in communication with the recess of its member. The assembly further includes features for orienting and securing the first and second members together such that their recesses cooperate to define a continuous interior cavity surrounded by the first and second members and the channel defines a continuous passage interconnected with the interior cavity. The interior cavity is sized and shaped to secure a power supply within the first and second members, and the passage between the first extensions is sized and shaped to secure a power cable to the power supply.
