摘要: A system and method for data communication connecting on-line networks with on-line and off-line computers. The present system provides for broadcast of up to the minute notification centric information thereby providing an instant call to action for users who are provided with the ability to instantaneously retrieve further detailed information. The notification centric portions of information is wirelessly broadcast to wireless receiving devices which are attached to computing devices. Upon receipt of the information at the personal computer, the user is notified through different multimedia alerts that there is an incoming message. Wirelessly broadcasted URL's, associated with the data, are embedded in data packets and provide an automated wired or wireless connection back to the information source for obtaining detailed data.

摘要: A memory profiling system profiles memory objects in volatile memory and identifies memory objects as candidates to be stored and read directly from nonvolatile memory. The profiling system monitors memory accesses via page faults and identifies a memory object to be loaded in volatile memory. The profiling system uses page faults to determine a page fault type and a write frequency for the memory object, and determines the memory object's memory access type. The profiling system determines whether the object's memory access type meets the capabilities of the nonvolatile memory technology. If the memory access type meets the nonvolatile memory technology capabilities, the profiling system identifies the memory object as a candidate to be transitioned to and read directly from nonvolatile memory (e.g., NOR and PCM). The profiling system stores the memory object candidates in nonvolatile memory such that the memory objects are read directly from nonvolatile memory.

摘要: Only one point to multipoint virtual circuit (p2mp VC) is used within a router to handle all of the sources for a particular multicast group when other particulars of the multicast group are identical within that router. The router receiving a multicast packet for a particular multicast group identifies the source and the group number by reading fields of the incoming packet, identifies the input port of the router, and identifies the output port list. The input port of the router, the group number G, and the output port list are used by the router in establishing and identifying a point to multipoint VC within the router. The invention identifies all packets arriving at that particular input port, having the same multicast group number G, and having the same output port list, and transfers them to the identified VC. The VC is associated in the routing table with the output list of ports from which copies of the multicast packet are transmitted. Accordingly, only one VC is needed to transfer packets arising from any source of the multicast group so long as the multicast packets arrive on the same port of the router and have the same output port list.

摘要: A cervical bone plate includes a graft window that allows access to and/or visualization of a bone graft area of the cervical spine after attachment of the present cervical plate to the vertebrae. The window is preferably, but not necessarily, sized for maximum exposure of the graft area and/or the vertebral body without compromising plate strength, particularly with respect to federal standards for such devices. The window is centrally positioned on the plate and is sized to provide alignment of the plate onto the vertebrae at the base of the vertebra fastener or screw holes of the plate. In a dynamic form of this cervical bone plate, the graft window expands and contracts with respective expansion and contraction of the dynamic plate after attachment to the vertebrae (i.e. “dynamizes”). In another form, a three-component dynamic bone plate is configured such that a middle component accepts an identical end component at both ends of the middle component. The end component is a 180° interchangeable part. The middle component and the end component have cooperating configurations and complementarily configured grooves that allow sliding movement between the middle component and the end components. A two-pillar construction provides a central window.
