摘要: This invention relates to metallocene compositions and their use in the preparation of catalyst systems for olefin polymerization, particularly propylene polymerization. The metallocene compositions may be represented by the formula: wherein M1 is selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium, tantalum, chromium, molybdenum and tungsten; R1 and R2 are identical or different, and are one of a hydrogen atom, a C1-C10 alkyl group, a C1-C10 alkoxy group, a C6-C10 aryl group, a C6-C10 aryloxy group, a C2-C40 alkenyl group, a C7-C40 arylalkyl group, a C7-C40 alkylaryl group, a C8-C40 arylalkenyl group, an OH group or a halogen atom, or a conjugated diene which is optionally substituted with one or more hydrocarbyl, tri(hydrocarbyl)silyl groups or hydrocarbyl, tri(hydrocarbyl)silylhydrocarbyl groups, said diene having up to 30 atoms not counting hydrogen; R3 are identical or different and are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C10 alkyl group which may be halogenated, a C6-C10 aryl group which may be halogenated, a C2-C10 alkenyl group, a C7-C40-arylalkyl group, a C7-C40 alkylaryl group, a C8-C40 arylalkenyl group, a —NR′2, —SR′, —OR′, —OSiR′3 or —PR′2 radical, wherein R′ is one of a halogen atom, a C1-C10 alkyl group, or a C6-C10 aryl group; R4 to R7 are identical or different and are hydrogen, as defined for R3 or two or more adjacent radicals R5 to R7 together with the atoms connecting them form one or more rings; —B(R14)—, —Al(R14)—, —Ge—, —Sn—, —O—, S—, —SO—, —SO2—, —N(R14)—, —CO—, —P(R14), or —P(O)(R14)—, or an amidoborane radical; wherein: R14, R15 and R16 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C20 allyl group, a C1-C20 fluoroalkyl or silaalkyl group, a C6-C30 aryl group, a C6-C30 fluoroaryl group, a C1-C20 alkoxy group, a C2-C20 alkenyl group, a C7-C40 arylalkyl group, a C8-C40 arylalkenyl group, a C7-C40 alkylaryl group, or R14 and R15, together with the atoms binding them, form a cyclic ring; or, R13 is represented by the formula: wherein R17 to R24 are as defined for R1 and R2, or two or more adjacent radicals R17 to R24, including R20 and R21, together with the atoms connecting them form one or more rings; M2 is one or more carbons, silicon, germanium or tin; R8, R10 and R12 are identical or different and have the meanings stated for R4 to R7; R9 and R11 are identical or different and are a Group 14A radical having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms or are each primary, secondary or tertiary butyl groups, aryl groups, isopropyl groups, fluoroalkyl groups, trialkyl silyl groups, or other groups of similar size.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for determining the presence of an activated catalyst site in a catalyst system comprising a catalyst precursor and an activator, wherein the catalyst system is capable of providing a luminescence, the method comprising: performing a time resolved luminescence analysis on a reference analyte comprising the catalyst precursor that is not in combination with the activator, and performing a time resolved luminescence analysis on a sample analyte comprising the catalyst precursor in combination with the activator, determining a reference emission energy and a reference lifetime each associated with a maximum emission intensity in the reference output values; determining a sample emission energy and a sample lifetime each associated with a maximum emission intensity in the sample output values; and comparing the values to determine if the sample comprises an activated catalyst site. Use of the above method in relation to an activation index is also disclosed.

摘要: This invention is generally directed toward a supported catalyst system useful for polymerizing olefins. The method for supporting the catalyst system of the invention provides for a metallocene catalyst and alumoxane activator supported on a porous support using a total volume of catalyst solution that is less than that of which a slurry is formed. The metallocene and alumoxane aer mixed in solution, then the solution is added to a porous support in a volume between the total pore volume of the support and the volume at which a slurry forms. The solvent is then removed, leaving an activated supported metallocene.

摘要: A catalyst which exhibits superior control of product particle size in the insertion polymerization of alpha-olefins is described as transition metal compounds which associate with non-coordinating alumoxane anions which are dispersed throughout the interior of a silica support in the form of particles which are less than or equal to about 50 .ANG. (5 nanometers) in diameter. This catalyst is capable of gas phase (e.g. heterogeneous) polymerization of propylene into product granules with a high degree of control over granule particle size distribution and bulk density.

摘要: A data sharing mechanism may allow programs to share access to data collections. The mechanisms that implement the sharing may allow programs written in any language to read and write a shared collection. The mechanisms may make the shared nature of the collection relatively transparent to the program and to the programmer, by allowing a program to operate on the data more or less as if it were purely local data. The sharing of collections may be managed by a shared object runtime on each machine on which a collection is used, and by a shared object server. The shared object server maintains the true state of the collection, and deterministically resolves collections when programs operate on the same collection without knowledge of each other's operations. The mechanisms by which collections are shared may be implemented so as to be agnostic as to the kind of data in the collection.
