Abstract:
A method for determining the activity of proteases is provided. Fluorogenic substrates from which the fluorogen 7-amino-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin is eliminated proved to be particularly advantageous for the activity measurement. These substrates make it possible for measurement in microtiter plates with a fluorescence reader and thus for the fluorimetric determination of such enzyme activities in blood serum.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for carrying out a signal-processing viewing of a measurement signal that is correlated with the respiratory activity of an individual, for example, of a measurement signal that is correlated with the respiratory gas. The aim of the invention is to provide solutions with which an improved electronic analysis of the signals that are representative with regard to respiratory activity can be achieved. To this end, the invention provides that viewing results are obtained within the scope of a signal-processing viewing of said measurement signal and make a differentiation between obstructive and central respiratory disorders possible. The viewing results are determined, in particular, while taking into account changes of selected breathing characteristics such as, for example, the change in the ratio of inhalation time to exhalation time.
Abstract:
A compressed air supply assembly for operating a pneumatic assembly includes a compressed air supply; a compressed air connection to the pneumatic assembly; a purge connection to the environment; a pneumatic main line between the compressed air supply and the compressed air connection comprising an air dryer; a purge line between the compressed air connection and the purge connection; and a solenoid valve arrangement with a control valve to control a purge valve. The control valve is connected to a control valve connection in a pneumatic control line connected to a pressure control connection of the purge valve; and the purge valve is connected to a purge valve connection in the purge line. A pressure-maintaining device is connected to the pneumatic control line and maintains control pressure at the pressure control connection when the purge valve connection is open, independently of pressure in the purge line and/or the main line.

Abstract:
A transporting mechanism includes a link chain and clamps which are attached to a chain link of the link chain and which are capable of gripping at least one printed product. At least two clamps are attached to each chain link of the link chain, wherein the clamps in the link chain are spaced apart from one another by equal spacings.
Abstract:
An apparatus for stapling printed sheets includes a conveying apparatus having a plurality of sequentially spaced, saddle-shaped supports. The printed sheets straddle the sequentially spaced supports. A shaping body is rotatingly disposed on a first axis, and receives and conveys a wire segment. A stapling head holder is rotatingly driven about a second axis parallel to the first axis. At least one stapling head is radially displaceably seated in a guide arrangement on the stapling head holder. The stapling head has a bending apparatus having an end with an opening forming a guide. The opening is penetrated by the shaping body for receiving the wire segment from the shaping body, and shaping the wire segment into a staple. The stapling head further has a driver that forces the staple through the printed sheets positioned on the supports. The driver and the staple are guided by the guide formed by the opening of the bending apparatus.
Abstract:
A method and an arrangement for collecting and subsequently stitching folded sheet-like printed products. The method includes regularly feeding printed products to a conveying track. The arrangement has a plurality of supports for placing the printed products thereon, wherein the supports extend transversely of the conveying direction and are spaced apart in conveying direction. At least one feeder station is provided for the supports. A stitching apparatus is arranged in front of the end of the conveyor track. The conveyor track is driven by a bending means which engages the supports.
Abstract:
A vehicle air suspension installation includes pneumatics configured for operation in conjunction with a compressed air supply installation, and comprises: a pneumatic line having a port connection to the air supply installation, air bellows, each serving as a pressure chamber for an air spring, one air bellows being connected to the pneumatic line via a directional solenoid valve, and the air bellows being fillable/bleedable depending on a switching state of the valve, and first and second directional valves forming a solenoid valve system, which has a pneumatic part that is actuatable by a magnetic part. The first directional valve forms a primary valve, and the second forms a secondary valve. First and second air bellows associated with the valve system are fillable/bleedable depending on the switching state of the primary and secondary valves. The primary and secondary valves are controllable by a controller of the magnetic part. The controller is common to and acts upon both valves.
Abstract:
A method and apparatuses for determining the total content of proteases by means of measuring their enzyme activity after previous deinhibition is disclosed. In biological samples, lysosomal proteases are completely (e.g. in blood serum) or partly (e.g. in tissue homogenates) inhibited. A method proposed for the deinhibition entails immersing a solid support material (e.g. nylon or nitrocellulose) as plastic strip to which is linked, covalently or by adsorption, an inhibitor-binding substance which binds the inhibitor corresponding to the protease more strongly than the protease in the sample for measurement. After the deinhibition has taken place, the plastic strip is removed from the liquid sample for measurement, and the sample for measurement is passed on for measurement of the enzyme activity. Fluorogenic substrates from which the fluorogen 7-amino-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin is eliminated proved to be particularly advantageous for the activity measurement. These substrates make it possible for the sensitivity on measurement in microtitre plates with a fluorescence reader to be at least 10 times higher compared with conventional AMC substrates in blood serum, and thus for the fluorimetric determination of such enzyme activities in blood serum to be efficient with this measuring arrangement which is widely used in clinical laboratories.
