    摘要: To project a rectangular laser spot having a predetermined size and a high laser power density onto the surface of an object, a semiconductor manufacturing apparatus comprises a control unit for controlling power of a laser light source, an optical waveguide unit (1) including a core section (10) transmitting laser light and a clad section (11) covering the core section (10), and a lens (3) for forming the laser light output through the optical waveguide unit (1) into a laser spot having a predetermined shape, an output end surface (15) of the core section (10) has a rectangular shape with one side length of 1 μm to 20 μm and the other side length of 1 mm to 60 mm, and the laser source is set to make the power density of the laser spot output from the core section (10) to be 0.1 mW/μm2 or more.

    摘要: To achieve stable, high capacity, high speed recording. Of two light beams emitted from a light irradiation means, one or two beams are made pass through an optical path changeable member whereof at least one of the thickness and refractive index changes continuously or in two or more steps immediately after emission from the light irradiation means, so that a difference is introduced into the optical path length of the two beams, and the focusing point of one beam is made to vary to coincide with a position in the recording layer used for playback or recording. Another light beam is used for servo. Converging of light during recording or read of a multilayer recording medium is performed with higher precision than in the prior art, so higher density, higher capacity recording/playback can be performed.

    摘要: An initial crystallization method of a recording medium such as a phase-change optical disk, which comprises forming a light spot composed of at least two flat elliptical beam spots each having a long axis direction and a short axis direction and irradiating a rotating recording medium with the light spot such that the long axis direction of the beam spots becomes other direction than the parallel direction to the track direction of the recording medium, wherein the above-described light spot has at least two peaks of light intensity in the short axis direction and the interval of said two peaks of light intensity is 10 &mgr;m or smaller but not smaller than 2 &mgr;m, and a device for carrying out the initial crystallization method. By the initial crystallization method and the device thereof, the initial crystallization of the recording film of the recording medium can be surely carried out at a high speed without causing non-uniformity.

    摘要: A print control system allows a user to specify the internal state of a PDL (Page Description Language) interpreter using data coded in a format other than the PDL format the PDL interpreter can process. A client unit sends a job, containing existing PDL data, to which DPA (Document Printing Application) data specifying a new print specification is added, to a print server. The print server extracts the DPA data from the job and sends the data to a DPA conversion module. The DPA conversion module converts the DPA data to a PDL description and sends the converted result to the PDL interpreter. The PDL interpreter interprets the converted result and sets up the internal state. When the PDL interpreter completes the interpretation of the PDL description, a controller extracts PDL data from the job and sends the data to the PDL interpreter. As a result, the PDL data of the job is processed in the PDL interpreter according to the DPA specification.
