摘要: Provided is a method for controlling a magnet type fan clutch, by which method engine performance, fuel efficiency, engine life, vehicle acceleration capability and other properties of a magnet type fan clutch can be further improved and its fan noise can be further reduced. This method is adopted for controlling a magnet type fan clutch which includes a magnet coupling, an electromagnetic clutch combined with the magnet coupling to control the on/off switching of the magnet coupling, and a fan attached to the magnet coupling. The control method is characterized in that the electromagnetic clutch is turned on or off based on at least one signal of temperatures of radiator coolant, engine oil and transmission oil, a vehicle speed, a rotational speed of an engine, compressor pressure of an air conditioner, and an on/off signal of the air conditioner, etc., so as to control the rotation of the fan.

摘要: To reduce the size/weight and the power consumption of a fan-coupling device and to provide an external control type fan-coupling device intended to improve a fan rotation controllability.A fan-coupling device, in which the inside of a sealed housing borne on a rotary shaft fixing a drive disk thereon is divided by a partition into an oil sump and a torque transmission chamber housing the drive disc, so that the drive torque may be transmitted to a driven side with the oil fed into the torque transmission chamber and so that the communication passage of oil may be opened/closed and controlled by a valve member to be activated by an electromagnet. In the fan-coupling device, a magnetic member of either an integral structure or a split structure composed of a plurality of parts and assembled integrally is arranged between the electromagnet and the valve member (or armature), and the magnetic member is so assembled in the sealed housing that the magnetic flux of the electromagnet may be transmitted through the magnetic member to the armature.

摘要: A method is provided for controlling an external control type fan clutch. The method controls the On/Off of an electromagnet-activated valve for an oil feed adjusting hole. The method uses a PID control on the basis of radiator cooling liquid temperature, fan speed, transmission oil temperature, vehicle speed, engine speed, compressor pressure of an air conditioner, and an On/Off signal of the air conditioner. Individual gains of the PID control are determined by a gain matrix containing the optimum fan speed demanded by the engine, the actual metered fan speed, and the engine speed. The PID control is made on the basis of the gains to that a control signal is outputted. The control method can improve mileage, raise the cooling efficiency of an air conditioner and suppress fan noise.

Namely, in the external control type fan clutch device constructed so as to control the opening and closing of a supply adjusting hole of oil by a valve member operated by an electromagnet, the opening and closing of the supply adjusting hole of the oil is on-off-controlled with the temperature of a cooling liquid of a radiator, a fan rotating speed, the temperature of transmission oil, a vehicle speed, an engine rotating speed, the pressure of a compressor of the air conditioner, etc. as parameters.
