摘要: A valve control device includes a valve unit disposed in a cooling water circuit, and a control part which controls operation of the valve unit. The control part has a rotation angle instruction part, a duty ratio calculator and a determiner. The rotation angle instruction part calculates an instruction value of a rotation angle in response to an operational status of an internal-combustion engine. The duty ratio calculator calculates a duty ratio representing a ratio of ON period to OFF period regarding a voltage applied to an electric motor based on a difference between a detection value of the rotation angle detected by a detector and the instruction value of the rotation angle, and regulates the duty ratio to be lower than or equal to a predetermined upper limit. The determiner determines whether the duty ratio continues to be the upper limit during a predetermined period.

摘要: A thermostat is diagnosed as open failure when a specified time variation in radiator inflow water temperature from a temperature sensor mounted in a first flow path running through a radiator at a time of starting an electric water pump at a cold start of an engine is equal to or greater than a predetermined variation. In the case of open failure of the thermostat, starting the electric water pump causes cooling water from a cooling water flow path of the engine to be flowed to the first flow path, as well as to a second flow path. The radiator inflow water temperature detected by the temperature sensor mounted in the first flow path is raised by the cooling water from the cooling water flow path of the warmed engine.

摘要: An apparatus for maintaining the temperature of an article at a temperature that is below the ambient air temperature includes an enclosure having an outer wall that defines an interior chamber for holding a volume of sealed air. An insert is disposed inside of the chamber and has a body that is made of a porous graphite foam material. A vacuum pump penetrates the outer wall and fluidly connects the sealed air in the interior chamber with the ambient air outside of the enclosure. The temperatures of the insert and article is maintained at temperatures that are below the ambient air temperature when a volume of a liquid is wicked into the pores of the porous insert and the vacuum pump is activated to reduce the pressure of a volume of sealed air within the interior chamber to a pressure that is below the vapor pressure of the liquid.

摘要: A fan having a temperature detecting function includes a fan frame, an extension member, a temperature sensor and a restricting portion. The fan frame has an air inlet, an air outlet, and an impeller rotatably arranged between the air inlet and the air outlet. The extension member has one end adjacent to the fan frame. The temperature sensor is arranged at one of the air inlet and the air outlet via the extension member in a position where the surface of the temperature sensor is fully exposed to the ambient air. The restricting portion is arranged at the one of the air inlet or the air outlet. The restricting portion is located between the extension member and the impeller and is adapted to prevent the extension member from making contact with the impeller.

The engine coolant monitoring system may also have a database configured to store a test result generated by the test device, the test result including a plurality of characteristics of the fluid sample. In addition, the engine coolant monitoring system may have a controller. The controller may be configured to access a rule-set associated with the engine coolant from the database, the rule-set having criteria associated with the characteristics. The controller may also be configured to label the engine coolant as normal when the characteristics of the fluid sample satisfy the criteria and label the engine coolant as abnormal when the characteristics do not satisfy at least one criterion included in the rule-set.

摘要: A cooling unit for an agricultural vehicle has a grid for allowing air to enter the unit while limiting debris and a heat exchanger for transferring heat from a coolant to air passing across the heat exchanger. The cooling unit further has a duct with motor driven fan, and a controller to monitor fan current and operate the fan in alternating directions. The controller generates a heat exchanger blockage warning when desirable fan current thresholds are not achieved.

摘要: A method is provided for operating a cooling system of an internal combustion engine, which cooling system has a controllable rotary slide valve with at least one switched inlet or outlet. The movement of the rotary slide valve into a plurality of switching positions, which each correspond with a cooling system state, is monitored. In accordance with an improper functional state of the rotary slide valve and a current switching position of the rotary slide valve, an operating state of the internal combustion engine is changed to an emergency operation state. A protection system in the cooling system carries out the method and includes a thermal management system, which receives and processes coolant temperatures, and a control unit of a controllable rotary slide valve having a position detector, which can detect a current switching position of the switchable rotary slide valve, wherein the thermal management system is connected to the control unit of the rotary slide valve.
