Abstract:
A communication system for transmitting information via drilling rod linkages includes a drill drive, drilling rod linkages comprising a first drilling rod linkage and at least one second drilling rod linkage. The first drilling rod linkage comprises an electrical line, an upper end and a lower end which comprises a receptacle for a drill head. The second drilling rod linkage comprises at least one electrical line, an upper end and a lower end. A sensor and/or actuator is arranged at the lower end of the first drilling rod linkage and at the drill head and transmits data. A first communication unit and an electronics unit are arranged at a drive end. A further communication unit is arranged at the upper end of the first drilling rod linkage and at the upper and lower ends of the second drilling rod linkage. The first communication unit and the further communication units are radio modules which transmit/receive data.
Abstract:
A method and device for electrically braking an electric drive in a machine for processing printing material, includes a power electronics connected between the electric drive and a DC voltage intermediate circuit. A further electric braking device is switchable between the electric drive and the power electronics. Upon a failure of a power system, a computer initiates a generator-type braking operation through the power electronics. The further electric braking device is switched on upon the failure of the power electronics.
Abstract:
A method is provided for measuring the tread or profile depth of a tire in the operating state while the tire is rolling and in contact with a surface below it. Vibrations of the tire or tire parts, which vibrations are generated by the spacing and/or geometry of profiled elements of the tire tread, are detected while the tire is rolling and in contact with the surface below it. The detected vibrations are compared in an evaluation unit with a characteristic theoretical value/threshold value that corresponds to a vibration generated by a tread of adequate depth. The evaluation unit issues a signal if the detected vibration deviates from the theoretical value/threshold value.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for non-dispersive optical determination of gas and smoke components in a mixture by reflection and detection of radiation, of a different wavelength for each component, through the mixture, wherein the radiation is periodically intercepted before it enters the mixture and reflected direct to the photo-receiver and the measurement signals are divided by the stored direct signals.

Abstract:
A rotation-angle measurement for printing presses with at least one marking (2) arranged on a rotating element (1) and at least one sensor (3,4) which detects marking (2). The at least one marking (2) extends along the entire circumferential path (5) and is arranged on the element (1), the position of which is to be determined.
Abstract:
Drive for a printing press with a plurality of printing units connected to one another by a gear train, each of the printing units being associated with a motor for supplying power to the gear train, includes a control device for receiving information regarding a register deviation between two of the printing units of the printing press operating at an existing power ratio and, in accordance with the information, changing the existing power ratio of the two drive motors so as to correct the register deviation between the two drive motors.
Abstract:
Conventional liposomes which are used for transporting pharmaceutical active agents in eukaryotic cells or for lipofection can only be preserved for a limited period, are not acid-stable and require a number of set parameters in order to achieve satisfactory results. Less sensitive liposomes are therefore highly desirable. The inventive tetraetherlipid derivatives are very stable and are well suited to lipofection.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a high-speed mass transfer tray with contact and separation elements (CSE) with each CSE consisting of an open, vertically aligned nozzle, which rests with its lower end on the tray and displays at least one row of annular holes, in which an axial swirler with two inclined vanes in the upper section and a firmly attached dense net of ribs arranged lengthwise along the nozzle axis at the lower section in the area of the annular holes is located. A cyclone separator located at the outlet end of the nozzle with deflection rings between separator and annular holes, characterized by the fact that the free cross-section of the CSEs for the gas flow measures 0.36 to 0.54 of the pipe cross-section after the swirler to ensure maximum performance of the gas and liquid flow and a high level of mass transfer efficiency, while each CSE between separator and annular holes features at least two deflection rings with a diameter either equal to or slightly larger than the outer diameter of the separator, with weir heights of about 50 to 300 mm above the lower annular holes. The high-speed mass transfer tray is used for processes to separate liquid-gas (vapor) mixtures and for the absorption, rectification, and desorption of mass mixtures, mainly in such fields as the gas, petroleum, petrochemicals, as well as the chemical industry.
