Abstract:
A system and method of providing friend location information is provided. More particularly, when a friend appears in a region desired by a user, it is possible to track a travel route of the friend and display for the user a map where the travel route is marked and thereby enable the user to understand preferred places or the friend.

Abstract:
A miller cycle engine system is provided, which includes a motorized supercharger, and a miller cycle engine (having low compression and high explosion) having the motorized supercharger mounted thereon to improve a low-revolution performance of an engine using a scavenging phenomenon due to an operation of a variable valve device (variable valve timing, variable valve lift and variable valve duration) during an operation of the motorized supercharger and to improve a fuel efficiency through down-speeding of a gear ratio of a vehicle.
Abstract:
A phase optimization apparatus and method to obtain a maximum extinction ratio by feeding back a portion of an optical signal output from a Mach-Zehnder interferometer wavelength converter using XPM of a semiconductor optical amplifier to maintain an optimum phase difference between two arms. The phase optimization apparatus includes a first arm having a first semiconductor optical amplifier that amplifies a pump signal and a probe signal, a second arm having a second semiconductor optical amplifier that amplifies the probe signal, and a π phase shifter that controls the phase of the amplified signal, an optical band-pass filter that filters optical signals to output only the modulated probe signal; and a phase control unit that receives feedback to output to the π phase shifter of the second arm a phase control signal, which controls a phase difference between the first and second arms.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling an optical gain difference and an optical phase difference in a semiconductor optical amplifier-Mach-Zehnder interferometer (SOA-MZI) wavelength converter having two arms and that outputs probe output signals POH and POL, corresponding to pump input signals of logic high and logic low, respectively. The controlling includes detecting an optical power level of the output probe signals and controlling at least one of an optical gain difference between the two arms and an optical phase difference between the two arms in accordance with a detected optical power level of the probe output signal.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus in a diversity system of a mobile terminal having a main receiving unit and a sub-receiving unit, which includes a sub-antenna for receiving an input signal and a part of a transmitted signal of a transmitting unit, a band-pass filter (BPF) designed to greatly attenuate a low-band frequency of the part of the transmitted signal received through the sub-antenna, a high-pass filter (HPF) for additionally attenuating the part of the transmitted signal attenuated through the BPF, a low-noise amplifier for minimizing a noise of an output value of the HPF, an HPF for passing therethrough only a high-frequency component of an output value of the low-noise amplifier, and a mixer for mixing output values of the HPF and outputting a baseband signal. One of two BPFs in the sub-receiving unit is replaced by one HPF, and thus the HPF can be fabricated on chip with the terminal receiving unit. Additionally, through the on-chip HPF, the use of an additional BPF is eliminated, and the size and the unit price of production of the mobile terminal can also be reduced.
Abstract:
A star-shaped oligothiophene-arylene derivative in which an oligothiophene having p-type semiconductor characteristics is bonded to an arylene having n-type semiconductor characteristics positioned in the central moiety of the molecule and forms a star shape with the arylene, thereby simultaneously exhibiting both p-type and n-type semiconductor characteristics. Further, an organic thin film transistor using the oligothiophene-arylene derivative. The star-shaped oligothiophene-arylene derivative can be spin-coated at room temperature, leading to the fabrication of organic thin film transistors simultaneously satisfying the requirements of high charge carrier mobility and low off-state leakage current.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an organic thin film transistor comprising a substrate, a gate electrode, a gate insulating layer, an organic semiconductor layer, source-drain electrodes and a protective layer wherein a buffer layer is interposed between the organic semiconductor layer and the protective layer. Such a transistor minimizes the deterioration in the performance of the transistor due to ambient air containing oxygen and moisture, and the degeneration in the performance of the transistor caused during mounting a display device.
