Abstract:
This invention relates to tubing and a method for heat exchange between a first fluid which is in the tubing and a second tubing which is outside of the tubing. The tubing extends between a first end portion and a second end portion. The tubing includes an inner tube and an outer tube which is arranged on the outside of the inner tube. The inner tube being connected to the outer tube in a fluid-tight manner at the first end portion. The first end portion being surrounded by and attached to a fluid-supply pipe and there being in the second end portion, a passage between the inner tube and the outer tube.
Abstract:
Analogues of the peptide PYY (1-36) are described in which the tertiary structure of the peptide is preserved and stabilised particularly to enhance binding and activation of the Y2 receptor by the use of cross links or rigid bends in the peptide to constrain conformationally the positions of the N-terminal part of the peptide sequence and amino acid 34. The analogues are useful in the control of food intake.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns an apparatus and a method for making and compressing growth medium pots, where the growth medium pots are made as a growth medium pipe, where a tubular wall is formed by the fibre-containing material, where the growth medium pipe contains slightly compressed growth medium. It is the purpose of the invention to achieved an apparatus and a method for cheap and efficient production of firmly compressed growth medium pots, where the growth medium pots are rapidly and efficiently compressed contained in the fibre-containing material. This may be achieved with an apparatus as described in the introduction, if the apparatus is designed so that the end of the growth medium pipe is disposed in an opening in a revolving unit by transport means, where the opening in the revolving unit can be surrounded by at least a wall and a bottom, where means for cutting is separating the individual growth means pot from the growth medium pipe, where the revolving unit is rotated between a number of stop positions, where at least one stop position interacts with a cylinder unit at least including a pressing cylinder with connection to at least one piston, where the piston interacts with one of the openings of the revolving unit, where the growth medium pot contained in the opening of the revolving unit is compressed by the piston with an advancing movement, where at least one of the stop positions of the revolving unit interacts with an ejector cylinder that is connected with a piston which is pressing a finished growth medium pot out of an opening in the revolving unit. Hereby may be attained a very rapid and simultaneously very uniform compression of growth medium pots. By compressing growth medium pots, the air content is reduced without affecting the other contents of the growth medium pot. During transport and storage, a reduction in volume is very essential.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wash basin (2) for rinsing or washing hair of the head, comprising an illuminating device (3) having a plurality of light projectors (5) for illuminating an inner region (14) of the wash basin (2). Said wash basin (2) consists of a light permeable material (4), the light projectors (5) of the illuminating device (3) being arranged outside the wash basin (2) in such a way that at least one partial region (11) of an outer side (6) of the wash basin (2) can be subjected to light (12).
Abstract:
A graft coated pre-insulated pipe with fire retardant properties including a graft coating applied to the exterior of a pre-insulated pipe. The graft coating includes a graft solution and an expandable insulation material. The invention prevents damage to pre-insulated pipes caused by the expansion of the gasses in the cells of the foam within the pre-insulated pipe as a result of exposure to heat.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of lightning-proofing a blade (1) on a wind-energy plant, which blade comprises a blade shell (2) configured essentially as a fibre-reinforced laminate, which laminate comprises electrically conductive fibres, wherein the blade comprises at least one lightning arrester (9) configured for conducting lightning current, including preferably to ground. The method comprises that the electrically conductive fibres are connected to each other, and that at least one metallic receptor (4, 24, 25) is arranged for capturing lightning current at or in proximity of the external face of the blade; and that the receptor and the fibres are connected to the lightning arrester for equalising the difference in potential between the lightning arrester and the electrically conductive fibres. When the electrically conductive fibres are connected to each other, the fibres will cooperate on the conduction of a possible lightning current to prevent the current from running in individual fibres. Simultaneously the metallic receptor will serve as the primary lightning capturing device and reduce the risk of lightning striking the laminate. The receptor being connected to the lightning arrester, the current will predominately be conducted to ground, while the risk of transfer to the laminate is minimised in that a possible difference in potential between fibres and lightning arrester has been equalised.
Abstract:
A communication terminal for Internet telephony is provided that handles and control communication of data in accordance with a standardized network protocol and exchanges data with a connecting unit connected to the Internet where the resulting data exchanged between the terminal and a connecting unit consist of packets in a standardized protocol data packet format embedded in a wireless format. This provides a communications terminal which uses a network or the Internet for the transfer of digitized speech, etc., thereby achieving great economic savings. Also, the flexibility is increased with respect to wireless communication with the network or the Internet without any need for specialized equipment and functionality.
