摘要： A sheet transport apparatus for transporting a sheet along a transport path has a sheet transport mechanism having a plurality of transport rollers for transporting a sheet; and a jam clearing mechanism for removing the sheet, when the sheet causes a transport failure and is jammed on the transport path. The jam clearing mechanism has a coupling member coupled to a transport roller, a jam clearing dial that transfers a rotation force to the transport roller through the coupling member, and a switching device for switching so that the coupling member separates from the transport roller in transporting a sheet, while being coupled to the transport roller in clearing a jam.

摘要： An original feeding apparatus includes a feeder tray for stacking originals, a separating device for separating the originals into a single sheet, and a feeding device for feeding the original to the separating device. The feeding device is raised or lowered between a feeding position where the feeding device contacts an uppermost original stacked on the feeder tray, and a retracted position where the feeding device is separated from the uppermost original. A drive device and a control device are disposed for raising and lowering the feeding device. The control device adjusts a rotating speed of the drive device for raising and lowering the feeding device according to a reading mode, so that the feeding device is lowered at a different speed to touch the uppermost original.

摘要： An automatic document feeder for feeding and discharging a document or documents to and from a document handling device such as a copying machine includes a document supply unit having a separation roller and register rollers, positioning unit and discharge unit, which are driven by a drive unit having a single reversible driving motor. The separation roller is operated to forward the document to a document reading portion when driving the driving motor in a first direction, and stopped when driving the driving motor in a second direction. The register rollers are operated only when driving the driving motor in a second direction. By slowing down the separation roller just before the document collides with the register rollers, the document can be transferred at high speed without being damaged.

摘要： An autofocus camera has a photographing lens, a shutter normally urged in a shutter opening direction and arranged to be opened and closed after it has once been closed prior to a photographing operation, a mirror movable between a view position which allows light passing through the lens and the shutter to be transmitted to a viewfinder optical system and an exposure position which allows light passing through the photographing lens and the shutter to be transmitted to the surface of a film, and an automatic focus adjustment apparatus for automatically adjusting the position of the lens. The autofocus camera has a motor-drive control circuit arranged to close the shutter prior to a photographing operation, move the mirror from the view position to the exposure position, cause the shutter to be opened and closed for exposure of the film, cause the film to be wound immediately after completion of the operation of the shutter, move the mirror from the exposure position to the view position, cause the shutter to be opened after the winding of the film has temporarily been stopped, and restart the winding of the film.

摘要： A breather apparatus includes a first oil separation chamber disposed in a case and extending substantially in a vertical direction. The case constitutes a part of a vertical wall of an internal combustion engine, and blowby gas flows inside the case. A second oil separation chamber is superposed upon the first oil separation chamber. An opening formed in the lower part of the first oil separation chamber is communicated with the inside of the case. An upper part of the second oil separation chamber is communicated with the first oil separation chamber via a through hole. The blowby gas which has flown into the second oil separation chamber is supplied into an intake system via an outflow port formed in the lower part of the second oil separation chamber. In the separation chambers, oil in the blowby gas is separated by mutually different flow characteristics.

摘要： A document feeding device includes an upstream guide member that forms an upstream side of a document conveying path along which a document is guided from a sheet feeding tray to a platen, and a downstream guide member located between the upstream guide member and the platen. The document feeding device has a guide moving mechanism that slidably moves the downstream guide member away from an opposite guide member located opposite the downstream guide member upon a pivoting operation of the upstream guide member. Consequently, even if the document conveyed toward the platen is, for example, inappropriately conveyed to cause jamming, the document can be easily removed without being damaged.
