摘要: The invention relates to insoluble, highly crosslinked, slightly swellable styrene-4-sulfonate-containing popcorn polymers, a process for preparation thereof and use thereof as adsorbents, ion exchangers, support materials, filter aids, dye transfer inhibitors for laundry detergents or additives in cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical formulations, as tablet disintegrants. In particular, the styrene-4-sulfonate-containing popcorn polymers are to be used for filtering liquids, in particular beer, and also as tablet disintegrants.

摘要: The use is described of particulate, water-insoluble and scarcely swellable polymers of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, which polymers contain, copolymerized, at least 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the monomers, of at least one &agr;,&bgr;-monoethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid having from 3 to 6 carbons as filter aid for filtering aqueous liquids. Subject-matter of the invention are also water-insoluble, scarcely swellable polymers (popcorn polymers) that contain, copolymerized, &agr;,&bgr;-monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and styrene or styrene derivatives, and also a process for their preparation.

摘要: Methods for administration of a substantially non-cytotoxic chlorine dioxide composition to whiten a tooth surface are provided. The method comprises contacting a surface of a tooth with an efficacious amount of a composition comprising chlorine dioxide to provide an efficacious amount of chlorine dioxide to the tooth surface, wherein the contacting step comprises one or more of: i) contacting the tooth surface iteratively with at least two, substantially contiguous applications of a substantially non-cytotoxic composition comprising chlorine dioxide; ii) irrigating the tooth surface using an irrigation device that delivers a substantially non-cytotoxic composition comprising chlorine dioxide, or iii) irrigating the tooth surface using an irrigation device that comprises a chlorine dioxide composition comprising a cytotoxic amount of oxy-chlorine anions; and an oxy-chlorine anion barrier, wherein the irrigation devices delivers a substantially oxy-chlorine anion free chlorine dioxide composition to the tooth surface.
