    摘要: In a method of manufacturing a rotor of a rotary electric machine, a rotor core is formed by preparing a material sheet in a form of a belt. The material sheet has teeth extending from a first side of a middle portion of the material sheet and projections projecting from a second side of the middle portion in a direction opposite to the teeth. The projections define recesses therebetween. Each projection and each recess has substantially the same dimension with respect to a centerline between a first line passing through tops of the projections and a second line passing through bottoms of the recesses. The material sheet is helically wound so that the projections are located on an inner diameter side of a rotor core.

    摘要: In a starter, a front side bearing is provided between a one-way clutch and a pinion combined at a front end portion of a pinion tube. A housing supporting the pinion tube through the bearing has a housing small diameter portion where the inner diameter of the housing is set smaller than the outer diameter of the one-way clutch, between the bearing and a maximum advanced position of the one-way clutch. A housing front portion of the housing is formed into a cylindrical shape ahead of a attachment face which opposes to an engine side. The outer diameter of the front portion is gradually increased from the front end toward the attachment face. In this structure, the starter is installed from a transmission side without interfering the front portion of the housing with a transmission case.

    摘要: Simplifying a control system by integrating current control for an exciting coil and a main current control for a starter motor is accomplished by a current control unit for a starter motor and is constructed with a control device provided among a battery, a motor contact point and an exciting coil, and a starter ECU for driving the control device. The control device has a device capacity for allowing main current of the starter motor. The starter ECU changes a control specification for the control device before and after closing the motor contact point. That is, control-start timing of a coil current is determined by a battery voltage before closing the motor contact point. Thereafter, the coil current is restricted to a predetermined value to reduce a moving speed of a plunger. After closing the motor contact point, the main current is slowly raised.

    摘要: A rotary electric machine includes a plurality of permanent magnet main poles disposed on an inner periphery of a yoke and a plurality of auxiliary poles respectively disposed between neighboring two of the main poles via magnet fixing members and a plurality of magnet fixing members. The magnet-fixing member is comprised of a U-bent elastic metal plate having a pair of circumferentially opposite walls that provides a pole space. The opposite walls are respectively bent inward at edges thereof in circumferentially opposite directions to be opposed to each other. The bent edges have and elastic projections and are separated at the axial ends to form an elastic retaining member. The auxiliary pole is inserted into the auxiliary pole space by opening the elastic retaining member.

Therefore, the axially rearward movement of the output shaft 220 is regulated assuredly without regulating it by the rear end face of the center bracket 360 and the mortor partition wall 800, thereby preventing deformation of the center bracket.

    摘要: A starter for an engine, having a ring gear includes an output shaft for slidably holding a pinion gear engageable with the ring gear, a housing having an opening portion that enables the pinion gear to engage with the ring gear when the pinion gear advances, a cover having a shutter, a front wall and a side wall for sliding together with the pinion gear. The shutter opens the opening portion when the pinion gear advances and shuts the most part of the opening portion when the pinion gear retracts. The front wall is provided to cover at least half of a front portion, which faces to the ring gear, of the pinion gear. The side wall is extended from the front wall in a direction parallel to an axis of the output shaft to cover at least half of the gear tooth periphery in a circumferential direction of the pinion gear. When water carried by the rotating ring gear comes to the opening portion when the pinion gear rotates with the ring gear, most of such water is blocked by the gear tooth. Furthermore, the rest of water is blocked by small gaps between the pinion gear and the cover. When the pinion gear is disengaged from the ring gear, the shutter closes most of the opening portion. Therefore, most of water carried by the rotating gear is blocked by the shutter. Even if water enters inside of the housing through a small gap between the opening portion and the shutter, water is blocked by small gaps between the pinion gear and the cover.

    摘要: In a small starter motor which has a substantially closed space therein, it is necessary to blow out brush dust particles therefrom. On a coil end surface or both coil end surfaces of an armature, a fan generating an air circulation is formed utilizing gaps formed between individual coil ends on the surface without adding any other parts. Also, a side wall is disposed next to the coil end surface in parallel thereto which closes an axial end of a yoke in which the armature is coaxially disposed. In the space formed between the side wall and the coil end surface, an air circulation is generated when the armature rotates. The side wall has an air inlet hole and the yoke has an air outlet hole. Air coming into the space from the air inlet hole is blown out from the air outlet hole by the circulation generated by the fan made on the coil end surface. The brush dust particles are blown out by the circulated air, and the coil ends are cooled off at the same time. A distance between the side wall and the coil end surface and a depth of the gaps formed between the individual coil ends have to be optimized to obtain a good air circulation.
