A cathode ray tube display device including unnecessary radiating magnetic field reducer which improves the ability to reduce an unnecessary radiating magnetic field, especially, generated by a vertical deflection coil. A pair of coil is disposed in opposing relationship on the opposite sides of the ferrite core along an X-axis or in the horizontal direction of the deflection yoke so as to be in contact with an open side end of the ferrite core. Each coil has a shape curved with a predetermined radius of curvature conforming to the shape of the outer peripheral surface of the ferrite core. The ferrite core acts as a magnetic material for the coils which reduces the unnecessary radiating magnetic fields to increase the coil inductances to thereby produce a large extremely low frequency magnetic field (ELMF) reducing effect.

An AlGaAs/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor in which a base doping concentration is set to be as very high as 5.times.10.sup.19 cm.sup.-3 or more to cause a band gap narrowing effect and to reduce a band gap difference by an amount corresponding to the band gap narrowing effect, an Al composition ratio, i.e., x in an Al.sub.x Ga.sub.1-x As material of an emitter layer is set to be less than 0.25, whereby an emitter resistance can be made small, an operating speed can be made fast and a current gain can be made high. Preferably, the base doping concentration is set to be 1.2.times.10.sup.20 cm.sup.-3 or more so that the operation speed can be made remarkably fast.

Mounted on the deflection yoke or on the cathode-ray tube are an induction coil for generating a pulse voltage opposite in polarity to a high pulse voltage applied to the h and an electric field cancellation electrode made of a conductive wire to which the opposite polarity pulse voltage is applied. When the opposite polarity pulse voltage is applied to the electric field cancellation electrode, the electric field cancellation electrode radiates an electric field opposite in polarity to the high frequency electric field radiated from the deflection yoke to the outside of the cathode-ray tube apparatus to reduce the intensity of the high frequency electric field.

The present invention relates to a deflection yoke device which is preferably combined with an in-line type color picture tube having electron guns aligned horizontally. The distribution of magnetic fields is determined in the horizontal direction such that a sharp or strong barrel magnetic field is localized on the side of the neck portion whereas an extremely sharp pincushion magnetic field is localized on the side of the funnel portion and at the same time, an intensely sharp pincushion magnetic field is distributed between the funnel portion and the neck portion. The central electron beam is deflected more at a greater angle than side electron beams so as to land outside the side electron beams.

Thereby horizontal and vertical line misconvergences can be corrected.

At least two pairs of auxiliary coils are disposed externally on a deflection yoke at positions which are symmetric with respect to the central axis of a horizontal direction of said deflection yoke and which are separated from each other in the direction of the axis of a cathode ray tube. At least two pairs of auxiliary coils are respectively disposed in front of and at the back of the longitudinal center of a magnetic core. The auxiliary coils have a horizontal length which is longer than its another length. A horizontal deflecting current is supplied to the first pair of auxiliary coils in the direction in which unnecessary radiant magnetic fields generated in front of and at the back of the deflection yoke are suppressed, and a horizontal deflecting current is supplied to the second pair of auxiliary coils in the direction in which an unnecessary radiant magnetic field generated at the back of the deflection yoke is intensified. In consequence, unnecessary radiation can be suppressed simultaneously in front of and at the back of the deflection yoke by a correction apparatus which has a simple structure and which requires no large space.

A deflection yoke unit to be mounted on a cathode ray tube has a core on which a set of vertical deflection coils and a set of horizontal deflection coils are wound. A pincushion distortion correction device is provided for the deflection yoke unit. The correction device has a set of correction coils having a coil conductor mass quantity and an inductance which are smaller than those of the vertical deflection coil set and having a winding density distribution which is similar to that of the vertical deflection coil set. An upper and lower pincushion distortion correction current is passed through the correction coil set to correct upper and lower pincushion distortions in pictures displayed on a screen of the cathode ray tube. The core has, on its inner wall, slots in which windings of the horizontal deflection coil set, vertical deflection coil set and correction coil set for correction of the upper and lower pincushion picture distortions are received. A plurality of winding guide claw members having each two or three slots are attached to a front open end and a rear open end of the core, respectively. Front end conductors of the respective coil sets are separately placed in the slots at the front open end of the core and rear end conductors of the respective coil sets are separately placed in the slots at the rear open end of the core.

A heterojunction bipolar transistor comprises n.sup.+ -type GaAs collector contact region, an n-type GaAs collector region, a p.sup.+ -type GaAs base region, an n-type AlGaAs emitter region, and an n.sup.+ -type InGaAs emitter contact region, all of which are formed on a semiinsulative GaAs substrate. A heterojunction is formed by the base region and the emitter region. The emitter region is formed in mesa shape by dry etching. Around this mesa, B.sup.+ ion-implanted high-resistance region is formed. The base-emitter Junction is isolated from the ion-implanted region. The heterojunction bipolar transistor therefore has little on-voltage changes.
