    Abstract: A scheduling portal including a processor, a memory on which are stored machine readable instructions that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: access medical provider data for a plurality of medical providers and store the medical provider data in a database, receive patient parameters from a patient mobile device and store the patient parameters in the database, determine if the patient parameters contain a scheduling request for at least one of the medical providers having the medical provider data stored in the database, schedule a requested appointment for the patient with the medical provider if the patient parameters contain a scheduling request, update a medical provider calendar in the database, and send the updated medical provider calendar to a medical provider mobile device.

    Abstract: Bioelectrochemical Systems (BES) for use as Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) sensors, systems incorporating BES sensors for measuring BOD, and methods of using the sensors and systems for measuring BOD. The disclosed sensors are inexpensive to construct, long-lasting, have a fast response, and a large dynamic range. The invention includes biological oxygen demand (BOD) sensors which incorporate at least three working electrodes, at least one counter electrode, a reservoir for dilution fluid, and a sensor for measuring an electric current or a voltage which flows from the working electrodes to the counter electrode. The BOD sensors will typically also include at least one electrically active microbe disposed in proximity to the working electrode.

    Abstract: Novel isolated cDNA encoding the precursor of the novel gonadotropin-releasing hormones in four species of the fish lamprey is disclosed. The use of such cDNA's in studying the phylogenetic relationship of various species of fish and vertebrates overall; and the use of such cDNA's for controlling the gonadal development and spawning of fish, including inducing and inhibiting maturation, spawning and reproduction, is also described. Methods by which the novel peptides may be administered to fish to control their reproduction are also described.
