A control and power module for a rotating electrical machine comprising a power circuit containing a number of branches, and a control circuit designed for controlling the power circuit when the machine operates in a nominal mode. The inventive module is characterized in that the control circuit is also designed for monitoring an output voltage from the power circuit and blocking at least one branch of the power circuit in a conduction state when the output voltage reaches an at least first threshold value so that the machine functions in a degraded mode. The invention is for use in an alternator starter.

A micro-hybrid method and device for a motor vehicle. The device comprises, in an electrical cascade connection, a rotary electric machine, an AC-to-DC converter and a DC electrical supply bus, the DC electrical supply bus being connected to the AC-to-DC converter and being suitable for being connected to the terminals of an energy storage battery supplying an electrical distribution network of the vehicle. The device also comprises large capacity energy storage means which are mounted in parallel in relation to the cascade connection.

A method and a device for starting a diesel engine with no heater plugs, comprising pistons and cylinders defining combustion chambers into which gases intended to participate in combustion are admitted, in which method a strategy is adopted whereby the gases present in the chambers are heated up in such a way as to raise them to a minimum temperature within the entire volume defined by the chambers when the pistons are in the position of maximum compression or close to that position. The gases are heated by compressing the air in the cylinders using an electrical machine, or using a heating system in the intake.

According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: an electric current transducer is place substantially opposite to each conductor (I, i=1, . . . , n); a decorrelation matrix ([G]), which is a function of the position of the transducers in relation to the conductors, is constructed; the current (Imesi) in each conductor (i) is measured with the aid of electric current transducers and real currents (Ireeli) are deduced with the aid of the decorrelation matrix ([G]) and the measured currents (Imesi).

A device for determining the position of the rotor of a rotating electrical machine. The invention is characterized in that the device comprises a plurality of magnetic field sensors stationary relative to the stator and adapted to deliver multiphase electric signals representing a magnetic field detected by the sensors, and means for processing the multiphase electric signals by an operator capable of providing diphase signals depending on the position of the rotor. The invention is applicable to rotating electrical machines used in the automotive industry.
