Abstract:
The novel transparent polyolefin, polyester or polyamide article disclosed is stabilized against the effects of light, oxygen, heat and agressive chemicals by addition of 0.005-0.30% by weight the polymeric substrate of a hydroxyphenyl triazine UV absorber, and is characterized by its thickness between 1 and 500 μm. Preferred polyolefin articles thus stabilized are agricultural films containing as further stabilizer a sterically hindered amine. The novel compositions act as selective UV filter especially useful in agriculture.
Abstract:
The instant invention relates to a thermoplastic polymer composition useful in greenhouse films to enhance plant growth or in general bio-mass production. Further aspects of the invention are a process for enhancing plant growth in greenhouses by incorporating a photoactive additive together with light stabilizers into the greenhouse film and the use of the condensation product of dialkylamino benzaldehyde and barbituric acid together with light stabilizers as a plant growth enhancing additive in polymeric greenhouse films.
Abstract:
An agricultural article made of a composition containing (a) an organic polymer, and (b) an additive mixture comprising the components (b-0) a photosensitizer, (b-I) an organic salt of a transition metal, and optionally (b-II) an inorganic peroxide or inorganic superoxide.

Abstract:
The invention relates to stabilized thermoplastic polymers, in particular polyolefin films. The stabilizing composition contains a tertiary amine with a molecular weight greater than 400 g/mol, a UV-absorber and/or a sterically hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS). Further aspects of the invention are a process for stabilizing thermoplastic polymers and the use of the above composition for stabilizing thermoplastic polymers.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to non-agriculture articles which keep their properties during the use and degrade later on, until total disintegration and disappearance of the plastic. The invention further relates to a method for controlling the weathering resistance and the degradation of non-agricultural articles. The desired effect is obtained with specific combinations of degradant metals salts and stabilizers. The non-agricultural article of the present invention comprises an organic polymer, an organic salt of Fe, Ce Co Mn, Cu or Vd and one more sterically hindered amino compounds.
