Abstract:
There is provided a display apparatus comprising: first display means including a first display section; and second display means including a second display section and a non-display section located at an outer periphery of the second display section; wherein partial area of a display surface of the first display section of the first display means faces the non-display section of the second display means; and wherein portion of the non-displaying section of the second display means, which is facing the display surface of the first display section is provided with a transmission section configured to transmit light from the first display section.
Abstract:
A liquid-crystal display apparatus includes a liquid-crystal panel (25) having a color filter (26), a W light-emitting diode (22w) for irradiating white light to the liquid-crystal panel (25), RGB light-emitting diodes (22r, 22g, 22b) for irradiating lights of more than two colors containing white to the liquid-crystal panel (25), a luminance sensor (44) for detecting ambient illuminance of the liquid-crystal panel (25) to output a detected signal and a control unit (41) for switching the W light-emitting diode (22w) and the RGB light-emitting diodes (22r, 22g, 22b) based on the detected signal from the luminance sensor (44). In a related-art liquid-crystal display apparatus, since lights of red (R), green (G) and blue (B) are emitted with a time lag and superimposed upon each other so that a clear color may not be obtained in each pixel, thus resulting in insufficient color reproducing capability. According to the present invention, these defects encountered with the related art can be obviated.
Abstract:
A glass board used in the production of liquid crystal panels includes a matrix of individual substrates. Each of the substrates has a contact portion of an electrode formed on one of its principle surfaces. The individual substrates are spaced from each other so that the contact portions of adjacent substrates are not in contact with each other. Thus, when the individual substrates are cut, the contact portions are not weakened and contaminants are prevented from getting between the contact portions and the substrates.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device minimized in image retention phenomenon, comprising: a first insulating substrate having a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix and a first alignment film provided on the inner surface thereof, said insulating substrate comprising a plurality of thin film transistors associated with each of the pixel electrodes; a second insulating substrate disposed opposed to the first insulating substrate, said second insulating substrate having facing electrodes and a second alignment film formed on the inner surface thereof; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and the second insulating substrates; and at least one of the first and the second alignment films having a thickness of 60 nm or less.
Abstract:
In an inverter transformer comprising a primary winding and secondary winding which are wound on a first and a second spool respectively and disposed in juxtaposing relationship.with each other with the axes of the first and second spools being substantially parallel to each other, and a pair of cores which are disposed in abutting relationship to each other so as to define a closed magnetic path, the primary and secondary windings being electromagnetically coupled to each other through the pair of cores, at least one of said cores being provided with a protuberance which is disposed in opposing relationship to the other core, with a small distance maintained therebetween, the protuberance being interposed between the primary winding and the secondary winding, the arrangement is made such that secondary-side minimum sectional area of that portion of the cores through which magnetic flux is permitted to pass, is given substantially by S.sub.1 K, where S.sub.1 is primary-side minimum sectional area of that portion of the cores through which magnetic flux is permitted to pass, and K is the electromagnetic coupling coefficient between the primary winding and the secondary winding.
Abstract:
A coated cemented carbide alloy, excellent in toughness as well as wear resistance and which is used for cutting tools and wear resistance tools is provided herein. This coated cemented carbide alloy is composed of a cemented carbide substrate consisting of a hard phase of at least one member selected from carbides, nitrides and carbonitrides of Group IVb, Vb and VIb metals of the Periodic Table and a binder phase consisting of at least one member selected from the iron group metals, and a monolayer or multilayer, provided on the substrate consisting of at least one member selected from carbides, nitrides, oxides and borides of Group IVb, Vb and VIb metals of Periodic Table, solid solutions thereof and aluminum oxide, and wherein a binder phase-enriched layer is provided in a space 0.01 mm and 2 mm below the surface of the substrate with A-type and/or B-type pores inside the binder phase-enriched layer.
Abstract:
A radial tire for a construction vehicle includes a tread, a pair of sidewalls extending radially inwardly and terminating in inner edges having bead cores embedded therein, a carcass made of a steel cord ply extending between the bead cores, a belt arranged between the carcass and the tread to form with the carcass a main reinforcing layer, and bead reinforcing layers. Each of the bead reinforcing layers includes at least two sets of fiber cord layers. Each of the sets has at least two fiber cord layers. The at least two sets of the fiber cord layers are arranged extending radially outwardly from the proximity of an axially outer portion of the bead core and spaced each other to have a minimum spaced distance in the proximity of the bead core and a maximum spaced distance at radially outer end between the two sets of fiber cord layers, said fiber cord layers within said sets being substantially uniformly spaced from each other.
Abstract:
A pneumatic radial tire includes a belt layer consisting of a plurality of belt plies reinforced by cords. The cords of at least two adjacent belt plies are oblique in opposite directions with respect to an equatorial plane of the tire. The tire comprises a relieving ply overlapping the belt plies. A modulus of the relieving ply is less than that of the belt plies. A width of the relieving ply is wider than that of the belt ply having the widest width. Cords reinforcing the relieving ply is oblique with respect to the equatorial plane in the same directions as those of cords of the belt ply having the widest width. Separations at belt ends of the maximum width belt ply is effectively prevented.
