    摘要： A modem for network system which is mounted in an electric home appliance to communicate with an external service device, to which an additional modem may be connected, and to which one or more electric home appliances may be connected and an operating method thereof. The modem has a plurality of input/output ports, functions of which are changed using a switch so that an additional modem or an electric home appliance is connected to the modem. When two modems using the same interface are connected to an electric home appliance, connection of the modems to the electric home appliance is easily achieved via the existing ports without adding a new input/output interface to the electric home appliance. Also, when one or more electric home appliances jointly use a modem, additional connection of the electric home appliances is achieved using a switch without using an additional distributor.

    摘要： An apparatus and a method for detecting address information are provided. The apparatus for detecting address information from an optical disc on which a plurality of sectors are arranged and pre-pit data are recorded on each sector, includes: a window generation circuit for generating a detection window for detecting the pre-pit data; a data detection circuit for detecting the pre-pit data based on the generated detection window; a latch for latching the data detected by the data detection circuit to a larger number of bits than a pre-allotted number of bits; a synch information extraction circuit for generating synch information informing a time to refer to the latched data; and an address information extraction circuit for detecting address information by reading the latched data based on the generated synch information. Therefore, the address information recorded on an optical recording medium as land pre-pit (LPP) data can be efficiently detected.

    摘要： An apparatus for tracing position and direction of a target object through an RF signal includes two loop antennas and a position and direction determination part. The two loop antennas receive the RF signal transmitted from the target object and are perpendicularly coupled to each other. The position and direction determination part calculates two RF signal intensities received through the respective two loop antennas for comparison, and then determines that the target object transmitting an RF signal is placed in a center direction between the two loop antennas if the two RF signal intensities are the same, and otherwise determines that the target object is placed in a front direction of the loop antenna having a relatively higher RF signal intensity.
