    Abstract: A process for desulfurizing catalytically cracked gasoline containing sulfur compounds and olefin components, which comprises the steps of:1) first desulfurizing the catalytically cracked gasoline in the presence of a hydrodesulfurization catalyst at a desulfurization rate of 60 to 90%, a reaction temperature of 200 to 350.degree. C., a hydrogen partial pressure of 5 to 30 kg/cm.sup.2, a hydrogen/oil ratio of 500 to 3,000 scf/bbl, and a liquid hourly space velocity of 2 to 10 1/hr, said first desulfuriing step comprising supplying a feed having a hydrogen sulfide vapor concentration of not more than 0.1% by volume, and2) next desulfurizing the treated oil obtained in the first step in the presence of a hydrodesulfurization catalyst at a desulfurization rate of 60 to 90%, a reaction temperature of 200 to 300.degree. C., a hydrogen partial pressure of 5 to 15 kg/cm.sup.2, a hydrogen/oil ratio of 1,000 to 3,000 scf/bbl, and a liquid hourly space velocity of 2 to 10 1/hr, said second desulfurizing step comprising supplying a feed having a hydrogen sulfide vapor concentration of not more than 0.05% by volume. A reduction in octane number due to hydrogenation of olefin components is minimized while achieving a high desulfurization rate.

    Abstract: There are provided an SOFC system using kerosene as a reforming raw material, the SOFC system being capable of effectively cooling the cell and capable of being stably operated with no decreased efficiency, and an operating method thereof. The solid oxide fuel cell system includes reforming means for reforming kerosene to obtain a reformed gas, a methanation catalyst layer disposed downstream of the reforming means and capable of promoting a methanation reaction, cooling means for cooling the methanation catalyst layer, and a solid oxide fuel cell disposed downstream of the methanation catalyst layer. The operating method of a solid oxide fuel cell system includes reforming kerosene to obtain a reformed gas, performing a methanation reaction to increase a methane amount in the reformed gas, and supplying a gas obtained in the methanation to a solid oxide fuel cell.

    Abstract: A fuel for a fuel cell system, which comprises at least 5 vol. % of hydrocarbons based on the whole fuel and 0.5 to 20 mass % of oxygenates in terms of an oxygen content based on the whole fuel, wherein the total content of hydrocarbon compounds which have carbon numbers of 7 and 8 is 20 vol. % or more based on the whole hydrocarbons and the total content of hydrocarbon compounds which have carbon numbers of 10 or more is 20 vol. % or less based on the whole hydrocarbons, and a fuel for a fuel cell system, which comprises at least 5 vol. % of hydrocarbons based on the whole fuel and 0.5 to 20 mass % of oxygenates in terms of an oxygen content based on the whole fuel, wherein the fuel has distillation properties; the initial boiling point in distillation of over 40° C. and 100° C. or lower, the 10 vol. % distillation temperature of over 50° C. and 120° C. or lower, the 90 vol. % distillation temperature of 110° C. or higher and 180° C. or lower, and the final boiling point in distillation of 130° C. or higher and 210° C. or lower. The fuel for a fuel cell system has a high power generation quantity per weight, a high power generation quantity per CO2 emission, a low fuel consumption, a small quantity of evaporative gas (evapo-emission), small deterioration of a fuel cell system comprising such as a reforming catalyst, a water gas shift reaction catalyst, a carbon monoxide removal catalyst, fuel cell stacks and the like to maintain the initial performances for a long duration, good handling properties in view of storage stability and inflammability, and a low preheating energy.
