Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a touch sensor has a first edge and a second edge approximately perpendicular to the first edge. The touch sensor includes a first plurality of electrodes approximately parallel to the first edge, and a second plurality of electrodes. Each of the second plurality of electrodes has a spine that is approximately parallel to the second edge and a plurality of conductive elements that are approximately parallel to the first edge and in physical contact with the spine. At least one electrode of the second plurality of electrodes is adjacent to the second edge. The touch sensor further includes a plurality of nodes. Each node is formed by a capacitive coupling between an electrode of the first plurality of electrodes and an electrode of the second plurality of electrodes. The capacitance of each node is approximately the same.
Abstract:
Mats, pipe stands, and/or other structures, and methods for receiving fluid drained from one or more oilfield tubulars are described. Usable mats can include a base member at least partially impermeable to fluid from the oilfield tubulars, a first plurality of support arms secured to the top surface of the base member, and a second plurality of support arms intersecting the first plurality of support arms. The intersection between the pluralities of support arms defines openings through which fluid from oilfield tubulars supported on top of the support members or within the openings can drain, such that fluid from the tubulars does not spread on a rig floor or other surface beneath the base member. The base member and/or support arms are provided with a height and/or thickness adapted to support the weight of one or more oilfield tubulars placed thereon.
Abstract:
A hybrid design between manual and electric toothbrush technology with a mechanical rotation or manual brushing action. Brush or polishing units on the toothbrush head are rotated and counter rotated many times when activated by a spring loaded lever but when the lever is locked, the toothbrush allows a conventional manual operation. Permutations of rotary or rectangular brush or polishing units can be used on the same head. The brush units consist of bristle clusters surrounded by a ring of elastomeric nodes suspended over a cavity which moulds to teeth contours. The brush unit design is also shown applied to a manual toothbrush handle. The force applied to the lever allows variable rotation, and when slowly rotating, the bristles on the brush units can search into deep contours of teeth and gum surfaces especially at difficult to reach rear corners of teeth, rather than skipping over them at high speed.
Abstract:
A product display includes an elongated member having at least one channel extending in a direction substantially parallel with the length of the member, a product support engaged with the elongated member, and a product divider engaged with the elongated member. At least one of the product support and the product divider is at least partially received within the channel. The product support and the product divider are independently movable relative to one another along the length of the elongated member to adjust the respective positions of the product support and the product divider relative to the elongated member.
Abstract:
A random number source includes a ring oscillator generating an internal clock signal having random phase noise, and a first linear feedback shift register connected to the ring oscillator. A counter is connected to a first tap of the first linear feedback shift register for generating a count signal. A feedback bit controller is connected to a second tap of the first linear feedback shift register for generating a random feedback bit for a time based upon the count signal. A second linear feedback shift register is connected to the feedback bit controller for generating a random number based upon the random feedback bit.
Abstract:
A spring fastener, which comprises two engagement springs in opposite sides of the fastener. Each engagement spring has an engagement portion comprising a hindrance portion, which increases considerably the removal to insertion force ratio as compared to such ratio when the engagement portion does not have the hindrance portion, thus permitting very easy insertion into, with considerably more difficult removal of the fastener from the slot of a panel.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for use in encrypting and decrypting digital communications converting an initial block to final block based on freely selectable control information and secret key information. The apparatus or method having a plurality of units or steps operating on plain text or cipher text to provide a final block. The steps or methods including three modulo operations having unique modulus and meeting a specified constraint.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a method of producing an electrostatic field generating plate. More specifically, the method enables an electrostatic field generating plate to be produced made from PVC for a water purification system wherein the plate generates an electric field.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a water treatment system that uses an electrostatic field generating plate. Such electrostatic field is then used by an electrostatic water purification process for mass cooling systems to reduce scaling.

Each of the first plurality of nodes are formed by a capacitive coupling between an electrode of the first plurality of electrodes and an electrode of the second plurality of electrodes. The touch sensor further includes a third plurality of electrodes and a second node formed by the third plurality of electrodes. Each of the third plurality of electrodes form a portion of the second node by a self-capacitance coupling. At least one of the portions of the second node is positioned in-between at least two of the first plurality of nodes.
