    摘要: A method of arranging for payment of a purchase includes receiving, from a supplier, agreement to accept a payment from a buyer via use of a payment card having variable payment terms; after a purchase by the buyer from the supplier, assessing the supplier a standard interchange rate; receiving, from the buyer, approval to pay the invoice; and issuing, to the supplier, a rebate, based upon when the approval to pay the invoice was received. the variable payment terms are calculated by: determining a first early payment date; determining a second standard payment date; assessing against the supplier a first percentage of the standard interchange rate if the invoice is approved by the first early payment date; and assessing against the supplier a second percentage of the standard interchange rate if the invoice is approved on or after the second standard payment date.

    摘要: A roll stabilizer (10) is disclosed which comprises a fixed fin portion (12) connected during use to a hull of a vessel so as to extend outwardly of the hull in a substantially non-vertical direction, a flap portion (14) rotatable relative to the fixed fin portion (12), the orientation of the flap portion (14) relative to the fixed fin portion defining the degree of roll stabilizing force generated by the roll stabilizer (10), a shaft (16) connected to the flap portion (14) and extending during use through a vessel hull, a seal assembly (41) arranged to facilitate rotation of the shaft (16) while maintaining water tight integrity, and a first split bearing (18) disposed during use in a vessel hull on the shaft (16). The first split bearing (18) facilitates rotation of the flap portion (14) and comprises a first bearing portion (56), a second bearing portion (58) and operative bearing components (59), wherein access to the operative bearing components (59) and the seal assembly (41) is obtainable by separating the first and second bearing portions from each other.

    摘要: A primary station (10) for use in a communication system is described, the system operating according to a predetermined protocol. The primary station is capable of managing a plurality of piconets having secondary stations (12a, b, c) which communicate with the primary station on individual logical radio channels. In particular, the capacity available on the channels is monitored (20,25) and the channels in use controlled thereby enabling the secondary stations to communicate even in periods of heavy use. The primary station is suitable for application as a wireless access point in public spaces (airports, train stations) and in business or home scenarios where robust low power multiple radio networks are required.

    摘要: A method and system for anonymously and opportunistically tracking the location of a portable device in a wireless infrastructure is described. The system comprises an installed infrastructure (12) in for example a shopping mall, the infrastructure having short range radio stations (14a,14b) primarily installed as wireless information access points. Standard communication between a users device (10a) and a station (14a) is according to a short range radio protocol such as ZigBee in which devices are assigned unique identifiers. In an exchange, the identifier is correlated with location, time and date data and uploaded via a backchannel connection (16) to a database (20) which a user may connect with at a later time. The user, knowing his objects identifier, can therefore access the data to determine where his object last interacted with a station.
