Abstract: A novel octane enhanced intermediate hydrocarbon composition having a high bio-component content in the composition through the use of a renewable first gasoline component is herein disclosed. The intermediate hydrocarbon composition includes a renewable first gasoline component in an amount of from 5 to 50%-vol of the total intermediate hydrocarbon composition volume and the rest consisting of a second gasoline component, wherein the second hydrocarbon gasoline component includes unsaturated hydrocarbons from 50 to 90%-vol of the second gasoline component volume.

Abstract: A method for production of renewable hydrocarbons, including alpha olefins, renewable diesel, synthetic gasoline, and acyl-glycerides, from renewable oils is described herein. Also included is a method for production comprising (a) blending a specific renewable oil mixture with the proper free fatty acid character; (b) acid hydrolysis of the free fatty acids and subsequent purification of the unsaturated and saturated chains; (c) converting the saturated portion into renewable diesel; and (d) reacting the unsaturated free fatty acids via ethenolysis to form alpha olefins, then converting the remaining free fatty acids into either synthetic gasoline or into an acyl-glycerol via glycerolysis.

Abstract: Low sulfur fuel oil blend compositions and methods of making such blend compositions to increase the stability and compatibility of LSFO blends having paraffinic resids that are blended with distillates and/or cracked stocks of higher asphaltenes and/or aromatics content. In one or more embodiments, distillates and/or cracked stocks that incrementally reduce the initial aromaticity of the distillate or cracked stock with the highest aromaticity are sequentially blended prior to resid addition. Such incremental reduction and sequential blending have been found to provide a resulting low sulfur fuel oil blend that is both compatible and stable.

Abstract: An unleaded aviation fuel composition with improved octane properties has 20-35 vol. % toluene having a MON of at least 107; 2-10 vol. % aniline; from above 30 to 55 vol % of at least one alkylate or alkylate blend comprising isoparaffins 4-9 carbon atoms, 3-20 vol % C5 isoparaffins, 3-15 vol % C7 isoparaffins, and 60-90 vol % C8 isoparaffins, and less than 1 vol % C10+, based on the alkylate or alkylate blend; at least 8 vol % isopentane, 0.1-10 vol %, straight chain alkyl acetate; and 0.1-10 vol % branched chain alcohol having 4-8 carbon atoms, provided that the branched chain does not contain any t-butyl groups. The volume ratio of straight chain alkyl acetate to branched chain alcohol is in the range of 3:1 to 1:3 and the fuel composition contains less than 1 vol % of C8 aromatics.

Abstract: Production of fuels from low carbon electricity and from carbon dioxide by the use of a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) and Fischer-Tropsch is shown. Fischer-Tropsch is an exothermic reaction that can be used to produce steam. Steam produced from the Liquid Fuel Production (LFP) reactor system, where the Fischer-Tropsch reaction occurs, is used as feed to the SOEC. The higher temperature steam improves the efficiency of the overall electrolysis system. The integration of the LFP steam improves the efficiency of the electrolysis because the heat of vaporization for the liquid water does not have to be supplied by the electrolyzer.

Abstract: Unleaded aviation gasoline. An aviation gasoline fuel blend includes an unleaded aviation gasoline base fuel, with an effective amount of selected alkyl benzenes to improve the functional engine performance to avoid harmful detonation sufficient to meet or exceed selected standards for detonation performance requirements in full scale aircraft piston spark ignition engines designed for use with Grade 100LL avgas. Suitable alkylated benzenes may include a mixture of xylene isomers. Aromatic amines, such as m-toluidine, may also be added to increase MON. Base fuels may be a high quality aviation alkylate, or may be a commercial iso-octane, or a mixture of high quality aviation alkylate enhanced by iso-octane, or by commercial iso-octane mixtures, and may include iso-pentane or butane or both iso-pentane and butane in sufficient quantity to provide appropriate vapor pressure for the final fuel blend.
