Abstract: A system for reducing signal interference in modulated signal communication includes a measurement processor. The measurement processor measures amplitudes of noise components of a received amplitude modulated signal prior to demodulation. The measurement processor also identifies a frequency of a noise component having an amplitude larger than the amplitude of another noise component. A carrier frequency generator generates a carrier frequency substantially at a harmonic of the identified noise component. The carrier frequency is used to generate and demodulate the amplitude modulated signal.

Abstract: A method for recycling latex-containing broke is provided. Specifically, the present inventors have discovered that mechanical treatment may be employed to rework latex-containing broke for reuse in various products without the need for treatment with chemicals, such as hypochlorite, chlorine, or hypochlorous acid. As a result of mechanical treatment, fiber aggregates (e.g., combination of short fibers, fiber fragments, and/or latex) are formed that have a relatively small size. Besides having a reduced size, the fiber aggregates have also been unexpectedly discovered to have other unique properties. For instance, a large portion of the resulting fiber aggregates may be relatively free from the latex polymer. Specifically, the fiber aggregates contain a “core” of latex from which extend short fibers and/or fragments that are uncoated with the latex. The result is fiber aggregates that are uniquely “partially coated” with a latex polymer. When recycled in paper products, these fiber aggregates may impart a variety of benefits, such as increased bulk retention and high water capacity without any loss in absorbency rate.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing a cellulosic paper product (e.g., paper hand towels) exhibiting reduced malodor upon wetting. The process includes introducing a malodor inhibiting agent comprising isoascorbic acid and/or L-ascorbic acid antioxidants into the aqueous suspension of papermaking fibers from which the paper product is made, depositing the aqueous suspension of papermaking fibers onto a sheet-forming fabric to form a wet web and drying the wet web at high temperature in an oxidative environment to form a dried base sheet. The process of the present invention is particularly suited for reducing malodor released from cellulosic paper products made from through-air dried base sheet material.

Abstract: This disclosure is concerned with the use of on-line simulation of circuit faults during diagnosis to generate a small part of a complete fault dictionary needed for diagnosis of the circuit, being adapted for use of a mini-computer-based automated test system having only a small amount of secondary storage; and being adapted for an exact match diagnosis with modeled failures, and a heuristic approach for a partial match of faulty behaviour that leads to a highly probable diagnosis.

Abstract: In a method for the processing of fish, poultry or other meat products being conveyed in a plurality along a processing line, components which are to be excluded from consumption are separated and edible products obtained as a result for consumption are checked with an automatic inspection device for residues left behind. Separation takes place in such a way that, in the case of a number of edible products, minimized residues of at least one kind are deliberately permitted and induced for further processing of the edible products, in particular to optimize the edible product recovery. The automatic inspection device is adjusted to detect the minimized tolerance residues, and inspected edible products with and without the tolerance residues are separated from each other. In an apparatus for carrying out the method, a separating device with at least one separating tool is designed in such a way that, in the case of a number of edible products, minimized tolerance residues of at least one kind are left behind for further processing of the edible products, and the inspection device is connected to a separator device which distinguishes edible products with and without residues according to the inspection results and discharges them separately from each other.
