摘要: A system federates heterogeneous monitoring systems to provide end-to-end monitoring information for conveyances with item-layer visibility. A first node of the federated system comprises a first monitoring system and a first port and a second node comprises a second monitoring system and a second port. In parallel with a conveyance being transported between the first node and the second node, the first monitoring system sends an agent to the second monitoring system. The agent comprises logic and/or data necessary to implement processes on the second monitoring agent while the conveyance is at the second port. When the conveyance arrives at the second port, the second monitoring system executes the agent to determine conditions of the conveyance and/or its contents.

The tag in turn transmits radio frequency beacon signals (72) which are received by a reader (13, 261, 319, 521-530). The tag can vary the duration of the beacon signals, for example in dependence on whether it is currently receiving a signpost signal. Further, the tag can dynamically vary the transmission rate and/or transmission power of the beacon signals, for example following receipt of a signpost signal. Varying these parameters can facilitate compliance with governmental regulations.

摘要: A nested container establishes a relative hierarchy of associated containers as logistical units. The relative hierarchy comprises lower-layer containers and upper-layer containers relative to the nested container. To do so, the nested container sends interrogation signals to neighboring containers in order to retrieve identification information and layer information. Also, the nested container sends its own information identification information and layer information responsive to received interrogation signals. The nested container outputs the relative hierarchy to, for example, a site server or agent using a hand-held device. The identification module comprises, for example, an RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) device.

摘要: A conveyance tracking system provides two-phase transaction commit processing for synchronizing seal state information between a seal device attached to a conveyance and a host for tracking conveyances. The system uses a reader device for synchronization and communication between the seal device and host system regarding various operations, such as a lock operation, an unlock operation, and a clear tamper operation. In the first phase of the two-phase commit, the seal device prepares for the operation and the host executes the operation. In the second phase, the seal device fulfills the irreversible operation, ensuring that the seal state of the seal device and host are in sync.

摘要: Systems and methods to provide multi-layer visibility of nested containers at a mobile checkpoint are disclosed. Thee systems include a portable deployment kit in communication with a nested container. The portable deployment kit can be contained in a durable carrying case having a total weight that is within military standards for carrying by one person and includes a handle. Inside, the carrying case can include foam or other material to protect internal components during transport and deployment. In use within the system, the portable deployment kit can serve as a self-contained checkpoint or site server for gathering necessary information from the nested container and uplinking for centralized data collection. In one embodiment, the portable deployment kit includes a label printer for updating an identification device on the nested container to reflect, for example, aggregation and deaggregation.
