摘要: A food and beverage dispenser with a dispenser lid and a dispenser body. The dispenser body has four walls and a bottom. The dispenser lid seats on the dispenser body. The dispenser lid is secured to the body by cooperation of the lid with the body. Rotation of the lid causes a seal bead on the lid to seal against a seal bead on the body. The dispenser lid is a polyethylene shell, and the seal bead on the dispenser lid is an elastomeric gasket secured to the polyethylene shell.

摘要: A system federates heterogeneous monitoring systems to provide end-to-end monitoring information for conveyances with item-layer visibility. A first node of the federated system comprises a first monitoring system and a first port and a second node comprises a second monitoring system and a second port. In parallel with a conveyance being transported between the first node and the second node, the first monitoring system sends an agent to the second monitoring system. The agent comprises logic and/or data necessary to implement processes on the second monitoring agent while the conveyance is at the second port. When the conveyance arrives at the second port, the second monitoring system executes the agent to determine conditions of the conveyance and/or its contents.

摘要: A nested container establishes a relative hierarchy of associated containers as logistical units. The relative hierarchy comprises lower-layer containers and upper-layer containers relative to the nested container. To do so, the nested container sends interrogation signals to neighboring containers in order to retrieve identification information and layer information. Also, the nested container sends its own information identification information and layer information responsive to received interrogation signals. The nested container outputs the relative hierarchy to, for example, a site server or agent using a hand-held device. The identification module comprises, for example, an RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) device.

摘要: Apparatus for providing a laser light beam or an amplifier light beam that is scalable to very high light beam output power by use of approximately identical optical sections, each section containing one or more laser gain media and one or more fold mirrors, spaced apart from the laser gain media by a distance d. The laser gain media or the fold mirrors, or both, have a curved reflecting surface of radius R. The lengths d and R are chosen to provide a stable optical system within each optical section and to compensate for the development of a thermal lens within each laser gain medium when this medium is pumped by a light source. The optical sections may be concatenated to scale the light beam output power upward without limitation, except for optical absorption and losses that occur at each reflecting surface.

摘要: An identification device establishes a relative hierarchy of associated containers as logistical units, providing multi-layer visibility of nested and adjacent containers. The relative hierarchy comprises lower-layer containers and upper-layer containers relative to the identification device. An integrated reader device reads heterogeneous tag types. This allows disparate tag types simultaneously using a single device.

摘要: Apparatus for end-pumping of a solid-state laser with a source of high optical brightness. A stack of diode laser bars are excited, and each bar emits a light beam of a selected pump wavelength in a chosen direction. The light beam output of the diode bar stack is divided into a plurality of smaller, approximately rectangular light beams, which serve as extended light sources, by a plurality of mirrors that are positioned to receive one or more of these smaller beams and redirect such beams onto first, light-receiving ends of one or more optical fibers. Light collection optics receive the beams issuing from the mirrors and focus these beams onto a light-receiving end of an optical fiber with beam convergence angles that are appropriate for the numerical aperture of that fiber. Second ends of the optical fibers are optionally positioned so that a light beam emitted from the second end of a fiber is received by a laser gain material in a laser cavity and propagates along a common optical path within the laser cavity, thereby pumping the laser gain material.
