摘要: A water treatment plant and related method of water treatment comprise a treatment stage including a partial-treatment substage configured to apply at least one of chemical and physiochemical processes for reducing contaminants in the water, a preliminary filtration substage configured to remove large contaminants in the water such as microorganisms and pathogens, and a secondary filtration substage comprising one or more selectively permeable membranes configured to remove remaining contaminants which may include organic micro-organisms and ionic sized inorganic matter from the water. The plant also includes a heat transfer assembly configured to extract heat from water downstream of the treatment stage and to input the heat to water to be treated upstream of at least the secondary filtration substage, so as to recycle heat in the water within the plant to increase a treatment rate or reduce the power consumption of at least the secondary filtration substage.

摘要: An impact attenuation bag has a height-reducing structure in the form of an internal rib that draws the upper and lower surfaces of the bag closer together, reducing the overall height of the bag when inflated as compared with the same bag in the absence of the rib. This gives the bag a flatter resting shape that provides significant performance enhancement by increasing the initial ground contact area and lowering the vehicle assembly center of gravity. As a result, the moment arm is reduced making the payload less likely to roll over. The rib may be a fabric sheet or cord laced in a criss-cross or other lacing pattern that extends from the top of the bag to the bottom.

摘要: A fast acting and low leak rate vent for an impact landing bag in which a vent hole is covered by a gas barrier assembly having a flexible membrane and a low gas permeability layer. A flap assembly positioned around the gas barrier assembly includes flaps that are movable between an open position in which the membrane is exposed and a closed position in which the flaps cover and reinforce the gas barrier assembly. An externally actuated flow initiator is associated with a fastening element that retains the flaps in the closed position. Upon landing, the flow initiator is activated to sever the fastening element and release the flaps and the low gas permeability layer. Thereafter, the internal pressure within the landing bag under landing forces causes the membrane to burst, releasing a flow of gas from within the landing bag to attenuate impact.

摘要: Described herein are APIs that enable generating identifier information for a user interface element of interest within a user interface of a computer program based on a description of a hierarchical element path comprising parent elements that the user interface element inherits from. Unlike more fragile identifiers, an element path identifier persists across instances of the computer program, across different computers, across different builds of the program etc. Also described herein, are APIs that enable searching for a location of a user interface element of interest in a target program using the element path identifier for the user interface. The element path identifier may be represented in a string data type or a user defined data type. APIs for converting between a user-defined data type and a string type and vice versa are also provided. The element path identifier may be composed from common identifier information of component elements of an element path. Such identifiers may include class names of user interface elements, module names of application programs in the element path, and sibling order information. Other information could be added to further reduce ambiguity. For instance, runtime identifiers (e.g., process identifiers) may be added to distinguish between user interface elements of two different instances of the same program. The presence of strongly named branch portions within which elements are guaranteed to be uniquely identified may be leveraged to persistently identify user interface elements by adding the unique identifiers of the named branch elements to the element path identifier.

摘要: A [(Pt/Co/Pt)/Pd] multilayer thin film (40) provides improved perpendicular anisotropy and magnetic coercivity relative to Pt/Co multilayer thin films (10) without reducing the Kerr rotations provided by the component Pt/Co layers (44, 48, 46). [(Pt/Co/Pt)/Pd] multilayer thin films (40) comprise a substrate (26), an optional underlayer (110) including a crystallographically textured layer (114) of Pt and a crystallographically textured layer (116) of Pd, and several quadlayers (42) of Pt, Co, and Pd forming a periodic array (43) in the direction of the normal to the substrate (26). Each quadlayer (42) of the periodic array (43) typically comprises a first layer (44) of Pt atoms approximately one to two atomic monolayers thick, a layer (46) of Co between one and three atomic monolayers thick, a second layer (48) of Pt of substantially the same thickness as the first layer (44) of Pt, and a layer (50) of Pd that is at least as thick as the Pt layers.

摘要: A wastewater treatment plant and related method comprise a treatment stage including a biological-process substage configured for growing unicellular organisms adapted to reduce contaminants in the wastewater which are dissolved, including at least one of organic matter and nitrogenous matter, by digestion thereof, and which are adapted to floc after digestion and a floc-removal substage downstream from the biological-process substage, relative to the flow of wastewater, and configured for substantially removing the unicellular organisms that have flocked. The treatment stage is configured to form majority and minority flows of treated wastewater, and the minority flow is configured to be recycled upstream of the biological-process treatment substage. The plant includes a heat transfer assembly configured for transferring heat from the majority flow of treated wastewater to the minority flow thereof to increase temperature of wastewater to be treated.

摘要: A beverage holding device comprising a container and a removably engageable lid. The container includes a partition extending between opposing sides of the sidewall of the container to define a plurality of separated cavities. The partition includes an edge surface forming an interior seal against a lower surface of the lid upon an engagement of the lid with the container for maintaining the plurality of cavities fluidly separated. A plurality of apertures in offset elevated positions above an upper surface of the lid are provided, with each communicating with a respective one of the plurality of cavities. The elevated and offset apertures provide a respective relief area to accommodate a projecting nose of a user during an engagement of the user's mouth with a respective aperture while tipping the container.
