A cathode structure comprises a cylindrical metal sleeve having aperture portions at both ends, a base metal having an aperture portion on one end, which is fitted onto one of the aperture portions of the metal sleeve, and an electron-emitting layer, which is formed on a flat portion of an outside surface of the base metal. After an electron-emitting material is sprayed onto the base metal, its surface is mechanically flattened to form the electron-emitting layer. Thus, the planarity of the surface of the electron-emitting layer can be improved without deterioration of the electron emission characteristics and the moiré can be decreased without reduction of the resolution.

An input system including a resistance film touch panel and a pushed position detecting device for detecting two-dimensional coordinates of a pushed position of a touch panel based on surface resistance values of resistance films, the system comprising a pair of insulating base layers opposed to each other with a certain distance therebetween; a spacer provided between the insulating base layers for keeping the layers apart but for allowing the layers to approach each other when an external force is applied to one of the layers; a first resistance film extended in first and second directions and provided on an inner surface of one of the layers, the first and second directions crossing each other perpendicularly and the first resistance film having outer connecting electrodes on both ends thereof along the second direction; and a plurality of second resistance films provided on an inner surface of the other of the layers, the second resistance films each being a lengthy strip extended in a direction crossing the second direction and having first and second outer connecting electrodes at both ends thereof.

The present invention provides pH-responsive liposomes which are capable of holding a desired substance in an acidic pH environment and releasing the desired substance in a basic pH environment.The present invention uses pH-responsive liposomes comprising, as constituent lipids thereof, a cationic amphiphilic molecule and at least one of an anionic amphiphilic molecule and a twitterionic amphiphilic molecule, wherein the liposomes, when dispersed in an aqueous medium, have a positive zeta potential in an acidic environment where the dispersion has a pH of less than 6.5 and have a negative zeta potential in a basic environment where the dispersion has a pH of 8.5 or more.
Abstract:
This disclosure deals with ettringite whiskers, methods of synthesizing such whiskers and ettringite whisker composites. The ettringite whiskers, having a new crystal form, are 1-2 .mu.m in diameter, 50-100 .mu.m in length and approximately 30-50 of aspect ratio. The ettringite whiskers are especially useful in industry as a high tensile strength reinforcement, they increase self-extinguishability and the productive capacity of making sheets, boards of the like.

This invention provides a polyester and a polyester molded product, which, while maintaining color tone, transparency, and thermal stability, can realize a high polycondensation rate, are less likely to cause the production of polycondensation catalyst-derived undesired materials, and can simultaneously meet both quality and cost effectiveness requirements, which can exhibit the characteristic features, for example, in the fields of ultrafine fibers, high transparent films for optical use, or ultrahigh transparent molded products. These advantages can be realized by using, in the production of a polyester in the presence of an aluminum compound-containing polyester polycondensation catalyst, an aluminum compound having an absorbance of not more than 0.0132 as measured in the form of an aqueous aluminum compound solution, prepared by dissolving the aluminum compound in pure water to give a concentration of 2.7 g/liter in terms of the amount of aluminum element, under conditions of cell length 1 cm and wavelength 680 nm.

The invention provides a polyester produced in the presence of a polycondensation catalyst comprising at least one compound selected from a group consisting of aluminum compounds and at least one compound selected from a group consisting of phosphorus compounds and being excellent in color tone, thermal stability, and transparency and improved in terms of insoluble particles. Particularly, the invention provides a polyester in which the content of an aluminum containing insoluble particles in the polyester is 3500 ppm or lower and a polyester which has a haze value of 2% or lower when being formed into a monoaxially oriented film. The aluminum catalyst for attaining these characteristics and properties may be polyester polymerization catalyst obtained by mixing an aluminum compound and a phosphorus compound in a solvent and has specified spectral characteristics in the side measurement of 31P-NMR spectrum and 27Al-NMR spectrum.

The present invention provides an electron gun which includes an electrically non-conductive substrate through which a perforation is provided. The electron gun is characterized in that a cathode-structure supporting member is welded to power-feeding members that are bonded to a stem side of the electrically non-conductive substrate, the cathode-structure supporting member supplying power to a heater included in a cathode structure. Structured as such, it becomes possible to reduce the size of the electron gun in the tube-axis direction, since an additional member for supporting the heater becomes unnecessary. In addition, the cathode-structure supporting member makes the electrically non-conductive substrate to work as a wiring board for supplying voltage to the cathode, thereby realizing a slim cathode-ray tube. Further, the above structure improves accuracy in the assembly process of the electron gun, thereby improving the yield factor.
