A method of cementing a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation comprises blending a base cement slurry with one or more liquid additives to provide a cementing composition, the base cement slurry comprising a liquid carrier, a class G cement or a blend of class G and class C cements as defined by the American Petroleum Institute (API) Specification 10A standards (R2015), and silica fume, or fumed silica, or a combination of silica fume and fumed silica, the base cement slurry having a density of about 14 to about 16 ppg; and injecting the cementing composition into the wellbore. The single base cement slurry can be used globally to make cementing compositions having wide ranges of density and temperature stability.

The composition is useful to form a sheath of hardened cement in the annular space between a well pipe disposed in a well bore and the walls of the well bore. The cementing composition is a mixture of dry ingredients comprising hydraulic cement and an additive to control the loss of fluid from an aqueous slurry containing the cementing composition. The fluid loss additive and a method of making the same is disclosed. The fluid loss additive is the reaction product of three chemical compounds each having an ethylene backbone and functional groups selected from carboxylates, hydrogen, anhydrides and combinations thereof.

An improved concrete mix composition and its associated method of manufacture. A traditional concrete mix is created by mixing cementitious material with sand, aggregate, admixture chemicals and water. After the traditional mix has been thoroughly mixed, reinforcement fibers of polyvinyl alcohol are added to the mix. The reinforcement fibers chemically bond to the cementitious material, thereby chemically integrating the reinforcement fibers into the mixture. The reinforcement fibers are supplied in multiple sizes. The reinforcement fibers include both long thick fibers and short thin fibers. In this manner, the smaller reinforcement fibers can fill voids around the larger, thicker reinforcement fibers. This helps prevent the development of stress cracks in the concrete and significantly increases the strength, durability, and life expectancy of the concrete.
