An apparatus and method for storing and displaying broadcasting caption are provided. Caption information extracted from broadcasting signal and video signal are separately managed. The caption information is extracted from broadcasting signals of a real-time broadcasting or reserved program and is decoded. The decoded caption information is created in a file format and stored in a storage medium. The stored caption file is replayed and displayed. The apparatus provides a function of storing a reservation of caption information, a function of selecting a storage medium, and a useful browsing and managing function for caption file. Accordingly, the caption information can be stored, searched, added, deleted, and moved between storage media.

The semiconductor heterostructure laser includes a semiconductor substrate, a multilayered light emitting region and an active nonlinear waveguide. The multilayered light emitting region serves as a light source for producing fundamental light of a fundamental frequency. The active nonlinear waveguide comprises a number of multilayered heterostructures which absorb the fundamental light and double the frequency of the fundamental light, resulting in a doubled frequency light. The multilayered heterostructure also has a resonator structure. For effective operation, a first refractive mirror is formed between the semiconductor substrate and the multilayered light emitting region, and a second refractive mirror is formed between the multilayered light emitting region and the active nonlinear waveguide.

A method for manufacturing ceramic boards for use as finishing construction materials is provided, which includes the steps of: blending raw materials at predetermined ratios; mixing the blended raw materials with water to prepare a mixture; kneading the mixture to remove bubbles; molding the bubble-free kneaded mixture into planar wares having a face; engraving a predetermined pattern on the face of the planar wares and then filling the patterns with a colored inlay material to form inlaid surfaces; drying the engraved and inlaid wares; polishing the inlaid surfaces to expose the patterns; primarily calcining the wares having exposed patterns at a temperature of 800° C. to 900° C. for a predetermined period to prepare primary ceramic boards; coating a glaze mixture composed of components at fixed ratios on the faces having the exposed patterns to prepare glazed wares and then drying; and secondary calcining the glazed wares at a temperature of 1250° C. to 1350° C. for a predetermined period.

An optical projection system includes a non-point white light source for emanating a white light, a source lens for focusing the white light, a source stopper having a source aperture for shaping the white light into a predetermined configuration, an optical means having a reflection surface for reflecting the white light, a field lens for collimating the white light, an array of M.times.N thin film actuated mirrors for changing the optical path of the white light reflected therefrom, a projection stopper having a projection aperture for passing a predetermined amount of the white light, a relay lens system having a plurality of lenses for modulating the size of the predetermined configuration of the white light, a RGB pixel filter for dividing the white light into the primary light beams, a projection lens for projecting the primary light beams and a projection screen for displaying an image made up of M.times.N number of pixels thereon. In the optical projection system, the RGB pixel filter is disposed between the projection stopper and the projection lens, and hence the white light only has to pass through the RGB pixel filter once, which will, in turn, prevent the lowering of the intensity of the white light and hence the optical efficiency of the system, and it will also cut down the amount of the white light that is reflected away, thereby reducing noises at the projection screen.

An optical projection system comprises a non-point white light source, a source lens, a source stopper, an optical means, a first, a second and a third arrays of M.times.N actuated mirrors, a beam splitting means including a first and a second dichroic lens, a first, a second and a third field lenses, a projection stopper, a projection lens and a projection screen. Each of the field lenses is located between each of the dichroic mirrors and each of the arrays of actuated mirrors and is used for collimating each of the primary light beams onto the corresponding array of actuated mirrors and refocussing each of the reflected primary light beams from the via the beam splitting means, and the optical means, and eventually onto the projection stopper.
