Abstract:
A trash receptacle assembly that is made from two sections that can be selectively connected and/or separated. The first section has a base. An incomplete peripheral wall extends upwardly from the base. The incomplete peripheral wall has a first side edge and a second side edge, wherein a gap is defined between the first side edge and the second side edge. Guide tracks are provided on the incomplete peripheral wall along at least part of the first side edge and the second side edge. A peripheral wall segment is provided that is shaped and sized to fill the gap in the incomplete peripheral wall. The peripheral wall segment slides into the guide tracks on the first section.

An electronic receiver, an acoustic transmitter and an acoustic receiver are also described.
Abstract:
An impressed current cathodic protection arrangement includes an elongate metallic structure to be protected and cathodic protection apparatus which comprises a DC power supply and an anode. One terminal of the power supply is connected to the structure at a connection point and another terminal of the power supply is connected to the anode. The arrangement includes monitoring apparatus for monitoring effectiveness of cathodic protection provided by the cathodic protection apparatus by determining the electrical potential of the structure relative to surroundings at at least one location which is spaced from the connection point.
Abstract:
A system for performing image reconstruction in a multi-threaded computing environment includes one or more central processing units executing a plurality of k-space components and a plurality of graphic processing units executing a reconstruction component. The k-space components executing on the central processing units include a k-space sample data component operating in a first thread and configured to receive k-space sample data from a first file interface; a k-space sample coordinate data component operating in a second thread and configured to receive k-space sample coordinate data from a second file interface; and a k-space sample weight data component operating in a third thread and configured to retrieve k-space sample weight data from a third file interface. The reconstruction component is configured to receive one or more k-space input data buffers comprising the k-space sample data, the k-space sample coordinate data, and the k-space sample weight data from the one or more central processing units, and reconstruct an image based on the input data buffers using an iterative reconstruction algorithm.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to the field of cancer including tumor therapy. More particularly, the present invention relates to the treatment of solid cancers, including solid tumors, and the prevention or reduction of cancer metastasis, by chemoablation of cancer cells by an agent which also stimulates the generation of cancer-specific T-cells, a process referred to herein as immunostimulatory chemoablation. The present invention further contemplates combination therapy comprising immunostimulatory chemoablation and one or more other therapeutic regimens, which enhance, co-operate and/or synergize with the cancer-specific T-cells induced by the chemoablation. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions for use in treating cancers.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprises a first transducer support configured to receive a first transducer in a first opening. A face of the first face of the transducer is located in a first plane. The apparatus also comprises a second transducer support configured to receive a second transducer in a second opening. A face of the second transducer is located in a second plane substantially parallel to the first plane.
Abstract:
A method of making shape-adaptable and spectral-selective distributed optical radiation sources, in the wavelength range between UV and mid-infrared, for therapeutic treatment using passive host medium containing nanocrystals is disclosed. The spectral output of the distributed optical radiation source is controlled by the nanocrystal size distribution that determines the spectral output of fluorescence radiation originating from these nanocrystals from within the said host medium, which contains the said nanocrystals, under excitation by an external source. The size of nanocrystals, or the size distribution of nanocrystals, incorporated in the host medium is selected based on the radiation spectral output required for therapeutic requirements. The passive host medium, incorporating the said nanocrystals, is made of adaptable, geometrically configurable, material that conforms to any desired shape.
Abstract:
In a representative embodiment, an apparatus comprises a transducer providing a first output; a capacitor providing a second output; a first load impedance connected to the first output; a second load impedance connected to the second output; and a differential amplifier having a first input connected to the first output and a second input connected to the second output. Illustratively, the first load impedance is connected electrically in parallel with the first input and the second load impedance is connected electrically in parallel with the second input.
